Mountain Bounty Farm News 

Dear Farm Friends,

This past weekend, Mountain Bounty Farm had the opportunity to table at the EnviroFair during SYRCL’s Wild & Scenic Film Festival, alongside our friends at Bear Yuba Land Trust (BYLT). It was a great chance to enjoy downtown Nevada City and chat with festival-goers who care deeply about the environment, local food, and sustainable land use—just like we do!

Thanks to everyone who stopped by our booth—we love having these conversations about building a stronger, more resilient local food system together. And if you haven't ever attended the Wild and Scenic Film Festival, I highly recommend you give it a try next year (volunteering gets you free passes to a session!)

It really is a gem of community event.

Also, did you know that we were the first farm in BYLT’s "Forever Farms" program?

We’re proud to be working together to protect farmland and promote land security in our region. It’s partnerships like this that help ensure local farms remain viable for generations to come.

Mushroom Share CSA

This week your mushroom shares will be either Lion's Mane Mushrooms, Oyster Mushrooms, Shiitake Mushrooms or a mix of both.

Flower Share CSA

Provided by Sweet Roots Farm, Grass Valley

This season's flower offerings will be lovingly grown and designed by Sweet Roots Farm in Grass Valley. Deena and Robbie started Sweet Roots 2010 and currently grow certified organic cut flowers and nursery starts.

The Summer Flower Share begins mid-June.

We are very honored to be able to offer the quality and sustainability of Sweet Roots Farm flowers in our CSA Flower offerings!

**As an added incentive to sign up for the Summer Flower Share now, we will have pop-up sales of one-time, limited edition, special occasion flower offerings from Sweet Roots as available. Current Flower Share members will have the option of purchasing the shares first, before they are offered to the public**

Bread Share CSA

Provided by Deer Creek Bakehouse Nevada City

Our new CSA Bread Share is a year round, weekly delivery of Country Sourdough Bread from Deer Creek Bakehouse in Nevada City. 

Based in Nevada City, Deer Creek Bakehouse crafts rustic, naturally-leavened breads with an emphasis on whole grains, long, slow fermentation, and a bold bake to bring out the best character in every loaf. The Country Sourdough is their flagship loaf. It’s a great work horse sourdough, and pairs well with just about anything. All loaves are hand made with 100% organic flours, much of which is locally milled.

You have probably tried their bread local restaurants such as Lola (The National Hotel), Restaurant Dakan, The Stonehouse, Brewbilt Brewhaus, and more!

Each week or bi-weekly, you will receive a loaf of freshly baked bread, delivered to your convenient CSA pickup location. This subscription is limited to 50 members, so be sure to grab a spot soon!

• Turn your celery into comfort food this week in this Celery Gratin (Click here).

• This Roasted Cauliflower Salad with Creamy Honey Mustard Vinaigrette (Click here) looks divine! The dressing is made creamy with tahini, so it is naturally dairy free. It is also a flexible recipe, so you can use your cilantro and the soft bits of your green garlic! Plus your avocados from the fruit share!

• Check out this great guide to green garlic! You will learn how to use and store all the parts of this young garlic, as well as how to make Spring Vegetable Pasta with Lemon Garlic Chicken (Click here).

• Sunflower Sprouts are nutty and crunchy and high in protein and many other vitamins and minerals! I still have a couple beets in my produce drawer, and I will be eating them in this Avocado, Beet and Sunflower Shoot Salad (Click here) this week!
