May is finally here! There is so much to look forward to this month as we celebrate and recognize the people, heritage, and cultures that make Orange County a welcoming and inclusive community.

Join us as we honor heroes past and present during one of many Memorial Day events taking place in Orange County this month. My personal favorites include the Cypress Grove Memorial Day Salute at Cypress Grove Park in Orlando, the annual War Memorial Commemoration Ceremony at the Orange County Courthouse and the Orlando VA Memorial Day Ceremony in Lake Nona.

Join the Orange County Asian Committee during the annual Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month Celebration. Experience Asian American cultural performances, explore an art exhibition, participate in workshops and more. Free parking will be available in the Orange County employee parking lot.

State of the County Address

Save the date! Orange County Mayor Jerry L. Demings will deliver the 2024 State of the County address on Friday, June 7, 2024 at the Orange County Convention Center. Join us as we look ahead at how Orange County plans to build better together. The full presentation will be streamed live on Orange TV.

Orange County Grant Opportunities

Orange County Sustainable Communities Grant

Grants are available to neighborhood organizations for qualifying projects up to $5,000 per community. Eligible projects can address issues such as lighting, irrigation, community gardens, electricity generation, and pollution reduction.

Citizens’ Commission for Children Nonprofit Grant

Nonprofit agencies focused on health and human services can submit a grant proposal through the Orange County Citizens’ Commission for Children. Successful proposals should focus on youth violence prevention, and transportation services for victims of domestic violence.
