Parent Footprint with Dr. Dan: Podcasts on Facing Disability and Learning About AI with Your Kids
Dr. Dan spoke with two new guests in the last month: motivational speaker Margaret Anne Mary Moore and child psychology professor Tovah Klein. One new bonus episode was also posted, discussing answers to listener questions.
Bold, Brave, and Breathless with Margaret Anne Mary Moore
On this empowering episode, Dr. Dan and Meg talk about her memoir, her triumphs as well as her thriving writing and publishing career.
Margaret is the founder of The Yes You Can Movement, a presentation series/blog in which she shares her experiences as a disabled individual, motivational speaker, career woman, para athlete (for her Girl Scout Gold Award project) and Positivity For Patients: The Art of Yes You Can, a community service initiative to donate displays of art and writing centered on themes of positivity and motivation to hospitals in the hopes of brightening patients' spirits especially during long stays and pandemic restrictions.
Listener Questions About First Jobs, Critical Grandparents, Rust-Out Parenting and More
In this December Sitting Down with Dr. Dan bonus episode, Dr. Dan and audio engineer Phil Rossi answer your listener questions about first jobs, grandparents who criticize everything, getting kids to talk about their day at the dinner table, rust-out parenting, and more.
Each month Dr. Dan answers listener questions about parenting (and adulting, too!) on our Sitting Down with Dr. Dan bonus episodes. Please email your parenting questions to podcast@drdanpeters.com or DM us on social media. We read every question and we want to consider yours for a future bonus episode.
Dr. Dan and Dr. Tovah Klein (“The Toddler Whisperer,” professor, author, parent) discuss ChatGPT, AI, education, and the digital lives of our children. Recently, Dr. Klein has been featured in the national media discussing artificial intelligence and safety, ubiquitous screens, tech and parenting fears, and related issues. This discussion is timely and essential as we start 2024 with more digital innovation and access than ever.
In addition Dr. Dan and Dr. Klein also discuss Tovah’s important work around child stress and childhood trauma. (Her research focuses on young children's social and emotional development, parental influences on early development, and parents' experiences raising young children, including the challenges of combining work and family. She also studies children’s play as a means to communicate and process emotions and stressful experiences.)

“It’s like collaboration. It’s learning with and from them. And that’ s what my wife and I find ourselves all the time now — learning so much from our kids. And joining them, as someone who is another human being who has lived longer, but doesn’t know all of the stuff that they know. So — teach us! When it comes to AI we are going to be learning this stuff together.”
