Stallion Spotlight: Roadster's Sophomore Year Standing at Ocala Stud

One of the challenges for any stallion station is to maintain both quality and diversity of bloodlines in its stallion roster. Ocala Stud's second-year sire Roadster, checks off both boxes. A Grade 1 winner, he is a son of five-time top-ten sire Quality Road and a member of the Gone West branch of the Mr. Prospector male line, which also includes important sires Speightstown and Mr. Greeley.

WILLISTON, FL-The first reported foal of 2024 by Journeyman Stud stallion Chance It, a colt bred by Edgar Coto, was born on Jan. 12 in Morriston, Fla. The colt is out of the Henrythenavigator mare Navigatorsdaughter.

Big Drama Wins the Grade 3 Mr. Prospector at Gulfstream Park

2011 - Making his first start of 2011 after winning the Grade 1 Sentient Jet Breeders' Cup Sprint at Churchill Downs in November of 2010, Florida-bred Big Drama set a new Gulfstream Park track record for six furlongs in 1:08.12 with a four-length victory in the Grade 3 Mr. Prospector on Jan. 15.

Jockey Scott Spieth is approaching a personal milestone of 5,000 Thoroughbred career wins in North America (US and Canada). Through racing Monday, Jan. 15, Spieth was at 4,996 wins. He has three mounts at Tampa Bay Downs on Friday.
