Last Chance to Vote in the RA Election

Act now! The Reston Association Board of Directors Election is in its final hours. This is your last opportunity to have a say in selecting our Board of Directors. With four open seats, your vote is crucial.

Make swift decisions by reviewing candidate statements and catching up on the recent Candidates’ Forum for South Lakes and At-Large seats, or the Candidates’ Forum for the Category B/Apartment Owners Representative seat.

The Board's decisions shape our community's vision, from policies to budgets. Your vote is paramount.

The election process is transparently managed by the Elections Committee, with balloting handled by an independent firm.

Time is running out! All ballots must be submitted by 5:00 p.m., April 1. Results will be revealed at the Annual Members’ Meeting on April 9.

Pool Season Preparations Underway

Attention all members. Pool season is approaching, and RA's annual drain and clean process will commence at the end of this week, wrapping up in early May. RA strictly adheres to Fairfax County pool draining regulations, which can be found here: Click here.

This maintenance plan is crucial for several reasons:

Pools like ours, with concrete shells set into the ground, require water to maintain their stability over the winter.
Emptying the pools prevents damage from hydrostatic pressure and protects the pool surface from winter elements.
Algae growth is managed with chemical treatments, but annual draining and cleaning are still necessary.
To prevent mosquito breeding, we treat the water before draining it to make it uninhabitable for mosquito eggs.

Celebrate Reston’s Founder’s Day

Reston Museum will celebrate the 20^th Anniversary of Founder’s Day on April 6^th with a day of activities at Lake Anne Plaza from noon to 4 p.m.

The Founder’s Day celebration will start with a community cleanup beginning at 11 a.m., followed by numerous activities, performances, a book fair and more. Learn more at: https://www.restonmuseum.org/event-details/founders-day-2

Founder’s Day began as a celebration of Reston’s Founder Robert E. Simon Jr.’s 90th birthday in 2004 and has continued every year since, showcasing how Reston’s community continues to live the legacy established by Simon. Founder’s Day is presented by Reston Museum and Reston Community Center with support from Public Art Reston and hosted by Lake Anne Plaza. Volunteer Reston manages Founder’s Day Community Cleanup.
