Dear Residents -
The Orangetown Department of Parks and Recreation released its Annual Spring Brochure this week. In addition to the old tried and true programs, there are several new ones being offered this year. If you have not yet done so, I would recommend perusing it and signing up for any program you are interested in as soon as possible so that you do not get closed out.
Last Saturday, the Orangetown Police Department Honor Guard had the privilege of presenting the colors for the national anthem at the NY Rangers game in Madison Square Garden. Thanks to the many Orangetown residents who traveled to cheer them on. With a 4-3 win by the Rangers, it was a great night all around! For those who missed it, you can view it here. Many thanks to Scott Waters for sharing this video.
On April 6, 2024, my staff and I will once again join the Tappan Volunteer Fire Department to participate in the Great American Cleanup. Registration will begin at 9:00 am at the firehouse, with breakfast at check-in, provided by the Tappan Fire Department, and a buffet lunch afterwards, courtesy of NoCo Kitchen. If you want to join us, please sign up by clicking here.
For those of you preparing for the upcoming solar eclipse on April 8, 2024, take a look at the NASA website. It provides the timing of the eclipse by zip code and includes safety tips for viewing.
Enjoy your weekend and for those who celebrate, Happy Easter.
Regards –
