March 2, 9 & 16 (Joining MIPC on March 23)
9:30am Sundays in the Partnerships Room
MIPC has membership classes, not to be exclusive in any way, but to be able to bring people in, to help them find a deeper connection within the body, and to participate more fully with one another. If you would like to learn more about MIPC or church membership, we are planning a spring New Member Class! Please let Pastor Kristy or Ruth Ann know you are interested.

A note from organist Eric: | With worship occurring in the gym this month there are many of you I will not be seeing for a while. That does not mean the sanctuary is dark or the instruments sitting silent. For organists, there is always next Sunday, or the following week, or the week after that, Easter, Pentecost, Christmas, and all those pieces we are just itching to share with you.
Enter January 2025... for the first time in my 53 years as an organist I have the pleasure/privilege of just practicing. During this month, my 10 or so hours per week of rehearsal can be devoted to learning repertoire I have previously not had time for. I am also resurrecting works not played for a while. When I next see you, whether it be in February or the summer, I will be sharing these many beautiful works during worship. You can be sure the instruments and I are always looking forward to seeing each of you. Here are a few of the pieces I am working on:
Frolic, An English Suite, Parry/Daymond
Sonata no. 4, Andante, Bach
His Eye is on the Sparrow, arr. Schrader
Partita no. 1, B-flat major, 2nd mvt, Allemande, Bach (at 2:10)

LiveStream Update for January | Since the gym isn't set up for professional livestreaming, we're going to video-record portions of the Sunday services (including the full sermon) with a method that results in higher quality audio. This "highlights" video will be available on the website each Monday by noon. Regular livestreaming from the Sanctuary at the 10:30am service returns on Sunday, February 2.
|
Scott Erickson Lecture in Bellevue | Newport Presbyterian Church invites you to "Exploring Art and Faith" with Scott Erickson. There are two free events: January 24, from 3 to 5pm, and January 25, from 10 to 11:30am. You can find more information and registration HERE. Newport Pres is at 4010 120th Ave SE, Bellevue, WA 98006.

Our Wednesday morning study meets at 11:00am in the Fireside Room, gathering around the Gospel of John. We open the Bible together, share what comes up for us, and pick up the next week where we leave off. Contact Dan or Kristy or just come!
|
Next Monthly Evening Worship |
Sunday, February 2nd at 5:00pm
Join us for our monthly, evening worship service at MIPC. The songs, scriptures and sermons are different from the morning services, so the entire church community is invited to gather in this casual, contemplative atmosphere.

MIPC Livestream Opportunity | Our previous livestream operator has relocated and we are looking at covering pieces of the 10:30 am worship service with a rotation of folks. If you are interested in joining this team - or just checking it out and observing how it all runs - email Pastor Kristy. And thank you to Scott McBurney who is brilliant with the livestream, and thanks to both Sam and Kathy who have joined this team! If this sounds at all interesting to you, come check it out!

MIPC has launched a new program called Old Friends Club that fits within our mission to live out our faith by serving the most vulnerable populations in our community. Old Friends Club is a community-based social respite program that is a place of friendship and belonging for those living with dementia. It also provides much-needed respite, education, resources, and support for their caregivers.
This program transforms what it means to live with dementia, promoting resiliency and a fuller, more joyful life through conversation, music, art, games, exercise, and a meal.
To learn more or talk about participating in the effort, please reach out to Tanya Su, the director of the program at ofc@mipc.org.

Children & Youth Sunday School |
Sunday School for PreK-4th grade explores rotating themes reflecting different aspects of our faith, with each Sunday focusing on Service, Worship, Art, or Play. Classes are led by caring adult volunteers and meet in the Worship Center (classroom #4) in the Children's Hallway from 9:30 to 10:15 AM.
Grades 5-8 focus on service, projects, and cultivating a loving spirit toward neighbors. In late Fall, Steve J. and Jennifer M. are excited to offer the Our Whole Lives Program, OWL, this year. OWL sexuality education helps children learn and discuss the physical, emotional, and social changes of puberty. Parents and caregivers can be actively involved in the exploration of growing older, values, communication, and decision-making.
