BIOGRAPHIES

Katherine Judge

Senior Economist, CIBC Capital Markets


Katherine Judge is a Senior Economist at CIBC, having joined the Economics group in 2018. She forecasts and provides insightful commentary of North American economic data, and contributes to analysis on topics that impact financial markets. Prior to joining CIBC, Katherine worked in a similar role at another major Canadian bank. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from McGill University and a Master’s degree in Economics from Queen’s University.


Jeannine LiChong

Executive Vice President and Portfolio Manager, Waratah Capital


Jeannine LiChong is Executive Vice President and Portfolio Manager at Waratah Capital Advisors Ltd. Jeannine joined Waratah Capital Advisors Ltd in 2018 after a successful 22-year career at Gluskin Sheff. Jeannine is a Portfolio Manager for the Waratah Income Fund and is on the Summerhill Resorts Ltd. Investment Committee. In her previous role, she was an Executive Vice President and Portfolio Manager in Canadian Equities, responsible for managing $2.6 billion, and a member of both its Executive Management and Asset Mix Committees. She is currently Chair of the Toronto Symphony Foundation and was a past board member of the Royal Conservatory of Music. Jeannine received an Honours Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Accounting degree from the University of Waterloo, and also holds CPA, CA, and CFA designations.


Brandon Gill

Managing Director, Head of External Partnerships, AIMCo


Brandon Gill New leads AIMCo’s External Partnerships team, overseeing the Plan’s external Public Equity and Absolute Return investments. At AIMCo, Brandon oversees the strategy, success, and growth of the External Partnerships portfolio, builds and nurtures client and partner relations, and contributes to setting long-term strategic goals. Prior to joining AIMCo, Brandon spent 5 years at OPTrust, most recently as the Managing Director & Head, Multi-Strategy Investments and Digital Assets. Previously, Brandon was a Director at BMO Capital Partners, a proprietary private debt and equity fund at Bank of Montreal. She also spent a decade at Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan, serving as a Portfolio Manager in the Alternative Investments Division, managing a portfolio of global hedge funds and esoteric investment funds. Brandon holds an MBA from London Business School and a BA in International Economics from Middlebury College in Vermont. She is also a CFA Charter holder. Brandon currently serves the Chair of the Investment Advisory Committee for The Junior League or Toronto’s Legacy Fund, and as a representative on the North American Advisory Committee of the Standards Board of Alternative Investments.


Alexandra Krystal

Managing Director & Head, Prime Services Group, CIBC Capital Markets



Alexandra Krystal is Head of Prime Services Sales and Capital Introductions. Ms. Krystal’s responsibilities involve, but are not limited to the strategic development and implementation of the firm’s global Prime Brokerage Initiative, including oversight of core activities comprising sales, capital introductions, and onboarding. Ms. Krystal is also responsible for managing the relationships with many of the bank’s largest hedge funds and helping to institutionalize the hedge fund business at CIBC. Alexandra has also developed a bespoke, best in class, Capital Introductions program that maximizes utility to the allocator and to the fund manager by reinforcing and amplifying the hedge fund client’s message tactfully and tactically. Prior to CIBC, Ms. Krystal developed and led EYs Prime Brokerage Advisory business, where she and her team worked along-side Prime Brokers to perform business assessments considering metrics across infrastructure, legal entity analysis, strategy, and balance sheet. She also developed an industry-leading Hedge Fund Treasury Study to substantiate the evolution of the financing role, based on a detailed examination of collateral management processes, counterparty risk management practices, margin replication methods, PB relationships and funding technology solutions. Ms. Krystal also held senior Prime Brokerage sales roles at Barclays and UBS. Ms. Krystal sits on the Leadership Committee of C4K and helps develop Canada’s premier best ideas and capital introduction conference to help raise capital for kids’ mental health. She also sits on the board of the Chillin with Adam foundation where she helps the charity raise and distribute money to hospitals in the help and support of children suffering with cancer and other related blood disorders. Ms. Krystal graduated from Colgate University with a B.A. and from Columbia University with a M.B.A.
