What if Jesus Had Said This?

a service devoted to no mistaking

Wouldn't it have been a great deal easier if there was no mistaking what Jesus said? So that what he meant would be clearer?

Imagine what he could have added and how Christianity might share in a different understanding - why this matters and that doesn't? Or what influence Jesus' more understandable words could have for those who claim to follow his teachings?

During our Service, we will consider some of Jesus' words, phrases, teachings and how, if these had been presented more clearly, his message might be interpreted differently.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR BUILDING FUNDRAISER

 Friday, April 26 - Saturday, April 27

The Building Fund Raising Committee plans to raise some additional money by selling parking spaces during Spartanburg’s Spring Fling. We will use Central’s parking lot and the lot across Church Street which some members use during Sunday services. This was done very successfully in the past when the youth held the event. We will need volunteers on Friday evening, April 26th, all day Saturday, April 27th. Each shift will be 3 to 4 hours and about 40 volunteers are needed to cover the necessary times.

If you are willing to help with this project, please call the church office (582-7263) and leave a message or send an email to: Gina Hamer.

 Upstate Friends Meetings

All worship services will be held at 3:00 PM on Sundays and the Zoom connection is:  https://us02web.zoom.us/j/7045994999?pwd=L3VIdXZHNFZxVUNJSjhxa0dtUDlidz09

The Quakers meet in person on the first Sunday of each month in Central's Fellowship Hall.

The next in-person meeting is May 5, 2024

A social break follows the service with snacks.

Ways to Give to Central

We continue to be deeply grateful for continued support of the mission and ministry of Central Church. There are a few ways to continue to make offerings extremely easy.

  1. The US mail always works. We are at 233 North Church St., Spartanburg, SC 29306.
  2. Contact the Financial Secretary to set up a recurring gift through an automatic bank draft.
  3. VANCO Mobile
  4. On the homepage on the church's website there is a "Give" link. Once you set up that app any additional gifts are as easy as one or two clicks.
