OPPORTUNITY GRANTS IN ACTION

THANK YOU Comcast! We had a great day capturing our grants in action with the Comcast video crew! We spent the morning at Sedalia Elementary School for their tree planting ceremony made possible through their Outdoor Learning Area Enhancement grant (and - BONUS - got to see their annual chicken race!). And then we spent the afternoon in the welding shop at ThunderRidge High School observing their Interactive Training Program.

We are excited for the big video reveal at our annual Building the Dream Gala happening this year on Thursday, September 5th! Learn more about our Opportunity Grants here.

The Douglas County School District's Perseverance Scholarship has awarded over $276,000 in scholarships to nearly 200 seniors since 1988. Financial need and academic merit are key criteria used in selecting scholarship recipients. In addition, students who are awarded this scholarship have often overcome personal challenges. These students show grit, determination, and resiliency, and need financial assistance to continue their education after graduation from a DCSD school. The 2024 Scholarship Award presentation was held on Thursday, May 2nd at the DCSD Legacy Campus. As always, it was a moving and uplifting event for all!
