While shelter can be a temporary refuge for families experiencing homelessness, FPTV is also able to offer a helping hand to those who aren’t in one of our shelter programs.
Following a tumultuous time period in which they were uprooted from their home, Kevin*, his wife, and two kids found themselves living in their car. Kevin reached out to FPTV for help getting his family back into a home.
After meeting with an FPTV case manager, he got right to work. Within two weeks, Kevin was able to secure employment as a dishwasher at a restaurant, beginning to earn income! FPTV then connected him with a few apartment complexes where we had built relationships with the landlords.
Kevin was soon approved for a unit, but didn’t have quite enough saved for the deposit. Thankfully, FPTV was able to provide start-up funding for his first month of rent and security deposit, allowing Kevin's family to get started building a new chapter in their new home. Today, Kevin and his family live in their apartment, close to his job and his children’s school. He expressed his gratitude that FPTV was able to help him get back on his feet in such a short time!
