A Remarkable Milestone!

Ruth Nickens celebrates

20 years at the

Tallahassee Senior Center!

I have been incredibly fortunate to have fallen into the “perfect job,” and to be part of many great accomplishments of the TSC team. During my 20 years here, my own life has been enriched in many ways — I have forged close friendships with co-workers, participants, and colleagues, my understanding of our community has expanded, and I have become an “expert” on many dimensions of aging. Hopefully, the skills and knowledge acquired will enable me to stay active, independent, graceful, connected, and creative for a LONG, LONG time. And that is exactly what we aspire to inspire for all adults age 50+.

I am suggesting you donate $20 ($1 per year), but feel free to donate whatever you can! The money we raise for Tallahassee Senior Center & Foundation will support programs that impact lives. Thank you for supporting this life-changing organization. Stay Active. Stay Healthy. Stay Connected.  -Ruth

Sponsor Spotlight

The Tallahassee Senior Center and Capital Health Plan love Tallahassee and the surrounding communities that we serve. Both encourage the art of motion - stay active, keep learning, exercise, and find your passion - and whatever that is, chances are the Senior Center is offering an activity, event, fitness class, or even the friendship that you need. That is why Capital Health Plan supports and will continue to support the Tallahassee Senior Center. The Senior Center helps so many people and enriches lives, which aligns with Capital Health Plan's goal of keeping the community healthy mentally and physically.

Capital Health Plan also encourages local residents to take a step toward better health by joining us for Walk with a Doc (WWAD), a health program that brings doctors and patients together to walk one Saturday a month. The next walk will be held on May 11, 2024. Click Here to Learn More

Walk with a Doc is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to inspire communities through movement and conversation with physician-led walking groups. It was started in 2005 by David Sabgir, MD, a board-certified cardiologist in Columbus, Ohio.
