Holiday Message from Cheryl McQuiston, Chair MBC - December 2023

Happy Holidays to our Neighbors & Friends

To Our Friends, Neighbors & Donors:

It’s that time of year again when I get to send a personal note to all of you. Thank you for supporting the Reimagine Magnolia Village project, which is almost completed. I am sure you have all seen the construction company busy at work pouring new concrete to upgrade sidewalks on 32nd McGraw and, of course, the parklet on 33rd. Soon, you will see the tables, chairs, benches, trees, Porous Pave™, and more flower poles installed.

It has been a year of patiently waiting for permits, but we are finally completing all five phases of the beautification project. Nothing will be more joyful this season than knowing that because of your generous support, we have created a new and beautiful landscape for our business district and all of you in our community.

As we move into 2024, we again start campaigning for funds to maintain your investment. We'd like to ask you to imagine 53 flower baskets in full bloom from May through September, being watered daily and tended so they will grow to their full potential. Think about the umbrellas, tables, chairs, and benches enjoyed by our community and the new and inviting parklet with the benefit of the afternoon sun – it is the sunniest spot in the Village. Everything you have made happen with your support has made our Village a place you and others want to be. A comment was made recently by a visitor at Winterfest: “This neighborhood is like a Hallmark Card.” We agree!

In January, we will share different ways to donate to reach our $32,000 maintenance goal for 2024. Of course, if you want to send us a tax-free donation in the spirit of the season, please do so. All donations go directly to the Magnolia Village Beautification Forever Fund.

We thank all our donors who enabled us to reach our maintenance goal in 2023. Please see a list of names of those donors in this newsletter.

To all our donors, volunteers, the Magnolia Chamber of Commerce, and my incredible Magnolia Beautification Committee team: THANK YOU for investing in your community. I am sending warm wishes for a happy and healthy holiday season. Please continue with your support as you enjoy Magnolia Village's lights, wreaths, and festive feel as you love and shop locally.

Warmly,

Cheryl McQuiston,

Chair, Magnolia Beautification Committee

Thank you to our donors who supported 2023 maintenance activities!
