Business Filings Due Soon

Most businesses on file with the Kansas Secretary of State are required to file an information report with our office every other year. The deadline for businesses with a December year-end and formed in an even year to file their information report is April 15, 2024.

Don’t forget to file yours HERE.

Candidate Filing Deadline Reminder

If you plan on run for office in the 2024 election cycle you need to file your candidacy by June 3rd (noon). Candidates for national, state, legislative and judicial offices must file their candidacy with the Secretary of State.

A candidate is not considered filed until their petition or declaration and fee is received by the Secretary of State (K.S.A. 25-208). Candidates must file by petition or filing fee.

Presidential Preference Primary

On March 19, Kansas conducted it's first state-run Presidential Preference Primary since the early 1990s.

The election results will remain unofficial until the State Board of Canvassers meet to certify the results. This meeting is open to the public and will take place in the Memorial Hall auditorium.

Following certification, official election results may be viewed on VoteKansas.gov.

"Forward Ever" Podcast with Gary Shorman

Eagle Radio's Gary Shorman invited me onto his podcast "Forward Ever: Leading in Challenging Times" where I spoke about the Presidential Preference Primary, the party rules of the primary, and the importance of voting.
