Rev. Bob's Ordination: Congregational Gift

Rev. Bob is being ordained in June! There will be more details to come on our celebration, but in the meantime, In the meantime, we are accepting contributions to purchase a congregational ordination gift: a lovely traveling communion kit that will be a blessing to Rev. Bob, and our congregation, and will further St. Nicholas' mission to actively share Christ's love for all people.

You are welcome to donate through Vanco or in the offering plate on Sunday using an envelope from the narthex.

You can view our intended gift by clicking here.

Rev. Bob's Ordination: Ride to the Cathedral

The ordination is scheduled for June 22 at 2:00 p.m. at the Cathedral of St. Philip in Atlanta.

Steve Morse is graciously providing his passenger van so that more St. Nicholas congregants can attend and support Rev. Bob as he enters the priesthood. The van holds 12 people - contact Erin in the office to reserve a seat.

Book Club to Return to First Wednesdays

With David Johnson’s guidance, book club members discussed Faulkner’s As I Lay Dying, which they liked despite his long, complex sentences. Then they selected C. S. Lewis’ The Screwtape Letters for the June reading.

The popular book was published serially in The Guardian in 1941 and as a book in 1942. Written in defense of Christian faith, this popular satire consists of a series of 31 letters in which Screwtape, an experienced devil, instructs his young charge, Wormwood, on effective strategies for tempting the human being assigned to him and making sure he continues on a steady path toward damnation. But confounded by church attendance and a faithful Christian …, their efforts are defeated when their subject dies in a bombing raid with his soul at peace. (From Encyclopedia Britannica)

This short book allows the club to resume meeting on the first Wednesday of the month. The next meeting is June 5 following Evening Prayer at 5:00 pm.

Childcare Provider Wanted

We are currently seeking a responsible adult to provide childcare in the nursery during Sunday Services and the occasional special event. This is a paid position, and there are training requirements.

Contact the church office to express interest and receive the job description.

Sunday Treats!

Parish Life kicked off post-service Fellowship time on Easter Sunday with cookies and lemonade. We'd like to continue this tradition on Sundays to give us a few minutes after the service to just enjoy each other's company.

If you'd like to bring a simple treat one Sunday a sign-up sheet is in the narthex.
