PEORIA (April 5, 2024) – Join us on Monday, April 8 at 10:30am for a brief press conference announcing our plans for the District’s second Park-A-Palooza set for June 6-8, 2024 on Peoria’s RiverFront.

The conference will feature comments by Representative Jehan Gordon-Booth and representatives of the Peoria Park District who will share information about their latest collaboration focused on celebrating Peoria and the impact that events have on the local economy.

This year’s event will feature four main components:

  • Back-to-back live performances featuring Joe Nichols with The Stone Cold Cowboys on June 6th and Everclear with Cole Hollow on June 7th.
  • A mobile ninja course featuring an iconic Warped Wall, alongside extreme air jumpers, zip line blow-up obstacle courses and other attractions for all ages on June 7-8th.
  • A soda pop tasting experience featuring over 75 unique flavors from classic flavors to bold new creations that will tantalize your taste buds on June 8th.
  • Back and bigger than last year, a 300-drone light show, illuminating the night sky with mesmerizing choreography and vibrant colors on June 8th.

Tickets will go on sale later this month. For many of these components, this is the first time that each of these experiences have been offered in our community. To learn more about Park-A-Palooza, please visit www.peoriaparks.org/pap/

Festivals like Park-A-Palooza generate essential dollars for local business. For example, every year, Peoria’s local cultural festivals generate $1.5 million in local economic impact and nearly $90,000 in local sales tax. These dollars also contribute to vibrancy and are not often considered when fun events are promoted.

It is estimated that the three-day weekend of Park-A-Palooza will bring nearly $500,000 in local economic impact to our communities and will attract visitors beyond a 50-mile radius, offering all of us an opportunity to promote the Greater Peoria area to new people.

“I am so proud of this community. Helping to bring events like Park-A-Palooza to Peoria is a joy for me,” shared Gordon-Booth.  “I love to share all that we have to offer with events like this and I appreciate the partnership with the Peoria Park District that makes this work so well!”

“Using public dollars to support vibrancy and to be a local economic driver is something that we don’t talk about enough,” stated Emily Cahill, Executive Director at the Peoria Park District. “Thank you to Representative Gordon-Booth for her trust in our organization to help power our local community!”

Since her election, Representative Jehan Gordon-Booth has focused her advocacy on the state level to improve the lives of those who live here and those who visit here. Her vision focuses on changing the narrative that you have to go to a larger city to experience vibrancy, but rather that our communities should be able to do amazing things here.
