New Membership Benefit: Discounted Short Term Housing with Kasa Management!


The League of Chicago Theatres is very excited to announce a new membership benefit, a partnership on discounted short term housing through Kasa Management. League members will have access to discounted room rates on three Kasa Management properties in River North, Magnificent Mile, and South Loop to house travelling artists and collaborators.

LOCT 45th Anniversary Venue Request


The League is looking for 8 partner organizations willing to serve as hosts for our 45th Anniversary Events. As we set out to create a monumental year of programming in 2024, we want our theatres to be at the forefront of our community gatherings and celebrations. If you would like for your venue to be considered for any of our events, please submit a Venue Submission For Here.

Studio Theater Residency Pilot - The Chicago Cultural Center invites the public to attend free dramatic readings of theater scripts by companies in residence during the New Play Reading Series. All readings take place in Studio Theater on December 16-18, 2023.

Watch HMS Media’s new PBS special LOOKINGGLASS ALICE, premiering Friday December 15 at 9pm Eastern/8pm Central! Also, featuring CHRISTMAS CAROL: THE REMIX BY Q BROTHERS at 10pm. 


LOOKINGGLASS ALICE, HMS’ newest PBS special featuring the complete performance from Lookingglass Theatre Company and a post-show mini-doc featuring David Schwimmer, airs nationally on Friday Dec 15 at 9pm Eastern/8pm Chicago. WTTW will broadcast the show at 8pm, again over the weekend and then multiple times on WTTW prime.

The Samuel G. Roberson Next Up Fellowship celebrates the voices of young Black playwrights. Each selected fellow will receive a $1,000 cash prize, a 10-month mentored writing fellowship, and the development of 10-minute play into full length play, supported by Congo Square. This fellowship aims to provide resources for young playwrights to enhance their writing and their identity as a playwright. This fellowship includes coaching session and master classes with industry professionals.
