Client Spotlight

Donna’s* family lived in an endless cycle of homelessness, and she wanted to end the cycle. She came to Catholic Charities Bayard House and expressed her wish to create stability for her unborn son.
With care and coaching, she successfully completed a customer service training program shortly before giving birth to a healthy baby. Although Donna struggled with finding a job after baby’s birth, she recently obtained employment with a local mail order company. Together with her Bayard House case manager, Donna is now creating a plan to manage her earnings, build a savings account, and find a new home for her and her baby.

Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians
Support of Casa San Francisco
Photo: (L to R): Terri Crovato; Kathleen Cadigan; Casa Program Manager Gary Belkot; Mary Jo Venerus; and Bernadette Worthing.
On March 26, St. Edmund’s Chapter of the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians (LAOH) presented a $3,000 check to Casa San Francisco to meet the emergency medical and dental needs of its residents.
The funds were raised at LAOH’s Mardi Gras gala held in February 2024. The ladies toured Casa San Francisco, and had an engaging conversation with Program Manager Gary Belkot about the work of Casa and the many individuals and families who experience homelessness in Delaware and the country.
Thank You! The team at Casa is grateful for the generosity of the LAOH!
