NMCIA Action Items

At their March 13, 2024 meeting, the NMCIA Board of Directors:

• Re-elected all three current officers: Curry County Manager Lance Pyle, chair, Santa Fe County Manager Gregory Shaffer, vice chair, and Sandoval County Commissioner Michael Meeks, NMC Representative
• Approved revised capital adequacy assessment funding on a three-year plan, with a four-year option if members make their first payment in 2024. Each member will receive a personalized letter from their NMCIA board representative detailing the assessment.

Bernalillo County Treasurer's Office Wins!

The BernCo Treasurer's Office was awarded the Investment Policy Certification at the 19th annual Government Investment Officers Association (CIOA) last week. In a rare occurrence for first time entries, BernCo's policy won the award by meeting the standards, philosophy, ethics, and primary investment objectives. The association's mission is to be the guardians of the taxpayer's monies, and receiving the national recognition shows strong stable financial stewardship of the county's funds. Bravo!

$800,000 Available for Recycling, Illegal Dumpsite, and Scrap Tire Cleanup

Applications for 2025 Recycling and Illegal Dumping (RAID) Fund grants: 2two-thirds for scrap tire management and abatement projects; one-third for recycling projects and illegal dumpsite abatement.

Capital Outlay Application Cycle Open!

NM Aging & Long Term Services Dept. is accepting applications for capital outlay projects for FY2025 through May 15, 2024. Eligible projects include new construction, major additions, renovations, vehicles, code compliance, and equipment. Attend a training session:
