Dragon Sleeper Goby $45 ~ 25% OFF $33.75!

If you are looking for a solid sand sifter the Amblygobius phalaena is the fish for you. Spending more time sand sifting than most it penetrates deeper into the sand bed. They primarily feed on the tiny crustaceans in the sand bed and will also eat some filamentous algae. One interesting fact is that they will eat flatworms! The Dragon Sleeper Goby maxes out at 5.9 inches and requires at least a 30 gallon tank with a with a well established live sand bed and full hood to prevent jumping. This is a peaceful intermediate care level reef safe fish.

The Lysmata wurdemanni are a good natural solution. Not all of them will eat Aiptasia if there are other food options. If you have some Aiptasia you want to get rid off cut back on your feeding to encourage your shrimp to look for food. Although known for their Aiptasia managing ability they also pick their way around your aquarium and live rock to consume detritus and uneaten food. This is a very nocturnal shrimp and may never be seen again after its introduction. The Peppermint Shrimp maxes out at 1.5 inches and requires at least a 10 gallon tank with caves and rockwork for shelter. This is a peaceful easy care level reef safe-shrimp.

The Acreichthys tomentosus is a popular choice as a natural form of Aiptasia control. This a shy fish that is rarely aggressive towards other fish but may pose a risk to small invertebrates. Opinions differ about whether or not this fish is reef safe. They don’t appear to cause significant problems in a reef tank but some report they peck at soft and stony polyps without eating them. The Aiptasia Filefish maxes out at 3.5 inches and requires at least a 30 gallon tank where they are fed twice daily. This is an intermediate care level reef-caution fish.

Turbo Snails in general are considered algae removing powerhouses. Most stores sell Mexican Turbos which are a subtropical species and do not survive well when kept in tropical reef temperatures of 77 to 81 degrees. Zebra Turbos are a true tropical species and are typically rock solid in our systems and our customers aquariums. We have a great selection of large to small Zebra Turbos to fit any size aquarium. The Zebra Turbo Snail typically maxes out at 2 inches and require ample amounts of algae to graze. This is a peaceful easy care level reef-safe invert.

The Red Texas Cichlid is a hybrid fish, often bred from the Texas Cichlid (Herichthys cyanoguttatus) and the Blood Parrot Cichlid. As a hybrid, it does not have a specific natural origin, but its parent species are native to North and Central America. These cichlids can grow up to 10-12 inches in length and are known for their striking red coloration and bold personalities. They are omnivorous and enjoy a varied diet, including high-quality pellets, live or frozen foods like bloodworms or shrimp, and occasional vegetable matter. Red Texas Cichlids require a large aquarium, at least 75 gallons, with robust filtration and a temperature range of 76-82°F. They are territorial and aggressive, so tank mates should be chosen carefully, ideally other large, similarly tempered fish. Providing plenty of hiding spaces and territories can help reduce stress and aggression.

They typically grow to about 4-6 inches in length, with males displaying stunning metallic colors in shades of blue, yellow, and red, while females are generally more subdued. Despite being less aggressive than some other cichlids, they still have a territorial and aggressive temperament, especially during breeding. To mitigate aggression, it's recommended to overstock the tank with other Aulonocara or compatible species, as this helps disperse hostility and prevents any single fish from being targeted. They thrive on a diet of high-quality cichlid pellets, flakes, and occasional treats like brine shrimp or bloodworms. Peacock Cichlids prefer a tank setup with sandy substrates, plenty of rock formations for hiding, and open swimming spaces, along with water temperatures of 76-82°F and a pH range of 7.5-8.5.
