Christians of the Holy Land Visit SAKLC

Hear their story and see their beautiful olivewood crafts!

On May 12, 2024 during all services, we will be hearing a ministry moment about the Christians of the Holy Land. After each service a display of handmade olivewood religious articles from Bethlehem will be available for purchase in the Narthex.


A Christian family from Bethlehem will be telling us the story of the Christians of the Holy Land and they will be presenting these carvings after the services.

Sarasota Contemporary Dance Ensemble (SCDE) is in its 5th season and is excited to perform a professional, evening-length showcase entitled "Evolutions." This performance features a range of dances from contemporary floor work to the Jazzy 80s.


SCDE will be presenting works choreographed by Associate Directors Xiao-Xuan Dancigers and Melissa Rummel, SCD member Monessa Sally, past company member Mary Rennels, and SCDE member Nicole Connaughton.


To close the evening, SCDE will be accompanied by live drumming.

MAY HYMN SING - Sing your favorites!


Join us 15 minutes before both the 9 & 11am services during the month of May for a Spring Hymn Sing! This is just an informal time to share some of our beautiful songs together. Choose any favorite hymn from either our Evangelical Lutheran Worship (red) or With One Voice (blue) hymnals -- just call out the # and we'll give it a go! It can be anything - even Christmas :) Hope to see you there!

Community Service Ministry May Drive

The Community Service Ministry had a fun time setting up our table for the May in kind drive. The recipients of everyone’s generous donations will be Baby Basic’s of Sarasota & Second Chance Last Opportunity. Please consider donating diapers & pull ups, diaper wipes & washcloths, baby shampoo, soap & lotion, baby blankets and children's’ books in English & Spanish. (new or gently used)

"Let's Have a Conversation"

Alternative Worship Task Force

The Alternative Worship Task Force has been sharing with you our goal to explore opportunities for additional worship experiences beyond the current 9:00 and 11:00 services.  And now we want to hear from you! Watch for detailed information next week on dates and times for “Let’s Have a Conversation” sessions coming up in June. There will be 6 sessions, limited to 10 people each, and you may participate either in-person or virtually.  A facilitator will guide you through a series of 5 questions aimed at your experiences as well as your thoughts on the possibilities for alternative worship at SAKLC.  We want you have a voice in this process and share your thoughts and opinions.


Watch for next week’s announcement with details on how to register and where you prefer to attend. This is an exciting opportunity for everyone at SAKLC.

Movement and Gratitude Exercise Class

Please join us on Tuesdays at 9:00am for exercise class in Fellowship Hall or on Zoom. Our instructor, Karri Weber, is happy to answer any questions you might have. Please contact the Church Office.


Class description below:

Functional movement for is the mission! With a mix of of joint fluidity and stability utilizing low impact aerobics, strengthening, stretching and body movement to feel good music. Light inviting atmosphere filled with laughter and joy. Focus is on injury prevention and connecting to the body. This class also incorporates improving balance and range of motion. A low intensity but high efficiency well-rounded workout with a warm and uplifting atmosphere! 


Modifications and use of chairs optional! Class is especially geared towards seniors but all ages and degrees of health are welcome!

Name Tags

If you’ve ordered a name tag, they are hanging on the name tag wall outside of the sanctuary. Don’t forget to wear your name tag on Sundays in order to get to know your neighbor! If you still need a name tag, please contact Nina at nina@saklc.com or at 941-388-1234. 

In Need of Medical Equipment?

Are you in need of medical equipment? We often get requests from members and friends who are looking for something to borrow for a short period during recovery. Contact the Church Office if you have any medical equipments needs.

Pastor Ken's Weekly Bible Study
Each week, throughout the year, Pr. Ken leads a Bible study on Wednesday mornings, from 11:00am-noon via zoom. If you wish to join in-person, please let Pastor know in advance. The class discusses the Scripture texts assigned for the forthcoming Sunday worship services. Pr. Ken shares a calendar month of handouts in advance, so that participants can look ahead, and read the comments of Lutheran scholars prior to each session. Please reach out to him at pastor@saklc.com so he can share the materials with you beforehand. Each week there is a good mix of lay people, and retired pastors, with each group bringing their unique perspectives on life and Scripture – it’s a fun group!
