Enjoyed a brisk sunny stroll at Skolfield this afternoon! Spent some time spying on a Great Blue Heron hunting in the marsh while a couple Canada Geese basked in the sun nearby. Plenty of birds to see today, including a Carolina Wren in the backyard! Very exciting.

A young eagle came by the pond today. Look at the pattern on its back as it drinks. The Canada Geese thought they could control the territory of the pond by "yelling" at the eagle. Whey weren't the least bit successful.

Some lovely fungi showed up after the warm downpour this weekend. (First 'flowers' of spring?) This website has some bullet points about jelly fungi that are interesting.
