We need your help!

Nominate fellow Rockwell volunteers, teachers, and staff members for this year's Rockwell Awards

It is often the passion and commitment of a dedicated few who make the difference. Please help us recognize our exceptional PTA Volunteers, Rockwell Teachers and Staff members who have made a difference for our Rockwell community this year!

The Awards Committee is asking Rockwell parents and staff to help us out by nominating fellow parents and staff members that have gone above and beyond to make this year great! Please fill out this form to send in your nominations, designate which award you are nominating them for, and to share why they deserve to be honored. 

Please submit all nominations by the DEADLINE of Sunday, May 19, 2024

Thank you for helping us take note of those working to make our Rockwell community truly special!

Nominations can be made to one of the following categories, and recipients will be honored during the Rockwell Volunteer Tea on Monday, June 3 from 11-1:30pm in the library.

Bow-wow Award (parent volunteer): offered by Rockwell PTA to recognize volunteers for their outstanding service to the Rockwell students and community during the school year. 

Heart of Rockwell (teacher/staff): offered by Rockwell PTA to recognize Teachers or Staff for their outstanding service to the Rockwell students and community during the school year.

Dog-Gone Award (parent and staff): offered by Rockwell PTA to recognize and honor exceptional volunteers, teachers, and staff members in their LAST YEAR of service at Rockwell (meaning that they’re moving on)

Golden Acorn Award: offered by the Washington State PTA for recognition of a volunteer who has given outstanding service to ALL children in the school community, not just an individual who has donated time to help in their child’s class. This is to recognize volunteer service “above and beyond” a particular job description.

Outstanding Educator Award: offered by the Washington State PTA to recognize individuals who go beyond the normal expectations of their jobs to make the learning environment fun, beneficial, and challenging for students. Who may receive the award? An outstanding educator could be a teacher, assistant, paraeducator, custodian, bus driver, administrator or community member.

We are still in need of volunteers to scoop ice cream (in 30 min shifts) during the event, and to help with cleanup.

Don't forget to be filling in your calender for the May School Pool. If you need a replacement calendar, extra copies can be found in the school office or online at https://www.goredmond.com/schools

Let's Ride, Walk, & Roll!

No experience is required! All nominations including self nominations are encouraged. Please email secretary@normanrockwellpta.org for nominations and any questions

OPEN BOARD POSITIONS:

VP Events

• Execute PTA events; oversee and provide assistance to event chairs; ensure events align with budget
• Work with committee chairs to ensure accurate/detailed notes, instructions and financial records are kept
• 8-10 hours per month (school year)
• Oversee events such as: New Family Playdates, Welcome Back Coffee, Back to School Picnic, Heritage Night, STEAM Night, Bingo Night, Movie Night, Ice Cream Social + Art Walk, Musical/Play, Dance/Social, 5th Grade Promotion

VP Fundraising

• Oversees Annual Beagle Contribution (ABC) Fundraiser by advertising in the Bugle and speaking at Curriculum Night
• Works on grant proposals and other passive income opportunities
• 4-5 hours per month in August and September; 2-3 hours per month other school year months
• Manage fundraisers such as: Dine Out, Box Tops, Spirit Wear, School Pool, Read-a-thon
