SCHOOL ZONES

Please be advised that NEW school zones are in place as of September 1st at the below locations:

• 2 Avenue (from 13 Street to 14 Street) along Blessed Sacrament Catholic School
• Not including the intersection at 2 Avenue & 13 Street

• 2 Avenue (from 8 Street to the middle of the 800 Block along 2 Avenue) along Blessed Sacrament Outreach School
•  Including the intersection at 2 Avenue & 8 Street

• 8 Street (from 1 Avenue to 2 Avenue) along Blessed Sacrament Outreach School
• Not including the intersection at 8 Street & 1 Avenue

Also, please be advised that some students are returning to school PRIOR to September 1st so please slow down and be aware of children in school zones.

COMMUNITY ORGANIZATION AWARENESS NIGHT

The annual Community Organization Awareness Night is occurring on Wednesday, September 6th from 6:30 - 8:00pm at the Peace Memorial Multiplex - VCU Financial Arena.

The purpose of this evening is to showcase all the groups and organizations Wainwright has to offer, for people to take part in and join, under one roof for a night.

It can also be used as an information night, volunteer recruitment tool and registration night, if applicable for your group. Tor register your group for a table, please complete the form below.

KIDSPORT WAINWRIGHT SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITY

Sponsorship opportunities are available for the annual Kidsport Wainwright Charity Golf Tournament. Options include being a major, hole in one or event sponsor. Prize/cash donations are also welcome. Please note that we are flexible and open to discuss a variety of sponsorship ideas. Kidsport would love to have you and your organization as part of our event. Every dollar raised stays right in the Wainwright area to help ensure all children have the opportunity to take part in organized sports. This is a program that continues to be very well used and we hope to fund as many children as possible.

2023 PROPERTY INSPECTIONS

This notice is to inform Town of Wainwright ratepayers that re-inspection of properties for assessment purposes will commence the week of May 1st, 2023. Properties east of 14th Street, north of 8th Avenue and south of 14th Avenue will be re-inspected. In addition, any other properties requiring review throughout the Town of Wainwright will also be re-inspected.

Inspections will be done by Wainwright Assessment Group Ltd. and will be completed around the end of December 2023. Assessors will be on site and show I.D. when occupants are present and leave notes in doors and proceed with an exterior inspection when no one is at the property.
