How long have you been a BAMA member?
Less than 1 year
What do you like most about being a BAMA member?
I’ve really enjoyed the quality and content of the events and member engagement. Love that it is really focused on the membership needs and current events. Can’t wait for us to be back to normal again!
Tell us about CLA and how your company can assist manufacturers?
CLA exists to create opportunities for our clients, our people, and our communities through industry-focused wealth advisory, outsourcing, audit, tax, and consulting services. We help our clients by truly listening to them and aligning our capabilities and industry specialized teams to assist them in achieving their long and short term goals no matter the business lifecycle. Locally in Tampa, we are proud of our manufacturing & distribution team whose team members include audit, tax, advisory, outsourcing (both short-term and long-term solutions), valuation services, buy & side sale due diligence, and specialty tax (R&D, cost segregation, and sales tax) all of which have full teams here in Tampa which is very rare to have in one office, especially in Tampa. We have a manufacturing & distribution page on our website that is continually providing up to date and relevant industry specialized contents (articles, webinars, roundtables, events, surveys, etc.) and tools as well as host events locally. We bring this content and experience to our clients.
How has your involvement with BAMA influenced your career?
BAMA is helping our team deepen our industry specialization and reinforcing what is important to our clients. We are excited about the opportunity to bring content and help our local manufacturers grow. BAMA’s alignment with Florida Makes has also added another layer of client engagement by offering their industry expertise. Additionally, opportunities have come up to help our clients make connections with other manufacturers. We are excited to continue to dive deeper and build connections.
What do you consider your greatest accomplishment to date?
Part of my passion is not only helping my clients realize their dreams, but my team members. Building a highly engaged all-star team who cares as much as I do has truly made me proud.
What is the best piece of advice you have ever received?
That’s a really hard question. There has been such great advice shared and lessons learned throughout my career. I’d say a few at the top of the list include 1) it’s a marathon not a sprint, 2) treat everyone with the same level of respect at all levels (cleaning crew to the CEO ~ that one came from my mom), and 3) we are not saving lives (Remind yourself that every time you are overwhelmed or stressed. If you are not saving lives, is it really as important as you are making it?).
What is the most important skill you have developed in your career?
Balance, patience and perspective. Honestly, it is hard for me to separate career with personal. The two are so integrated and those skills have been learned through both work and life experiences.
What are your hobbies or interests?
I’m a little bit of an oddball accountant as I’m equally left and right brained. I love the arts (all spectrums), music (all varieties), standup comedy or anything that fuels my creative juices. I especially enjoy spending time with my husband, our adorable 11 year old Australian Shepard, family and friends
