Thank you to those who attended yesterday’s Fifth Ward School Design Open House! We had great conversations and received lots of participation in our surveys for the school’s name and mascot.

Weren’t able to make it? Here’s what you missed:

We presented updated renderings of the Fifth Ward School’s design.* We expect to break ground on the new state-of-the-art school, with the capacity to serve 600 K-5 students, this summer!

The Foster Senior Club, many who attended the original Foster School, suggested four potential school names. A D65 community-based committee will recommend a school name to the administration for consideration to present to the School Board for approval.

Ms. JoAnn’s after school students at Family Focus reviewed mascot names and came up with their six favorites. Ms. JoAnn’s class will recommend a school mascot to the administration for consideration to present to the School Board for approval.

Vote for the school and mascot names you prefer, or suggest a new one!

Please complete the form by May 14, 2024.

*We are excited about returning a new, state-of-the-art school to the 5th Ward community! Please note that site design plans and finishes may change as the project evolves and to ensure that we remain within the estimated budget.
