While the school year is wrapping up for school-age kiddos, we are ramping up classes for the month of May. Be sure and check out the ten different classes we are offering this month.

CABLES, CABLES, CABLES

We love knitting cables and we want you to, as well!

 Want to learn how? We have three cable classes this month – Jason’s Cashmere Hat and Dream Scarf – are great classes for those who have never knit cables before.

The Stone Cable Sock class is a perfect challenge for an advanced knitter. 

Doodle Deck Workshop is this Saturday!

Get ready for some fun! We are knitting up a variety of Doodle cup cozies for next Saturday. Amy is going to be teaching her third Doodle Deck Workshop on Saturday, May 4th, from 10:30-12:30.

“14 Carats” and Co-Ba-Si

Barb knit this “beautiful poncho, “14 Carats,” out of Co-Ba-Si by Hikoo. It is a perfect summer top to wear for our cool summer evenings or where the AC is set a little too cold.

Co-Ba-Si is a lightweight fingering weight yarn made from Cotton, Bamboo, and Silk and it comes in the loveliest summer colors. 

Western Carolina Yarn Crawl

May 7th – May 12th

Make sure you plan to visit the 12 yarn shops in Western Carolina. Be sure to check times and days of operating hours for each shop. We are open our regular hours during the crawl – Tuesday – Saturday, 10:00-5:00.

You can register each day of the yarn crawl for a drawing for a door prize. You do not have to make a purchase to register for a door prize.

Jason’s Cashmere Hat Class

• A great first cabled hat. If you have never knit cables before, come join us. This is an easy- to-follow pattern and you will get lots of practice knitting cables!

Short Row Shaping Workshop

• Learn four common short row shaping techniques, practice each technique and create a sample piece to compare techniques.

One Day Weaving Workshop – Introduction to Rigid Heddle Weaving

• Learn how to warp a Rigid Heddle Loom and weave a sampler of a variety of stitches.

Advanced Sock Class – “Stone Table” Socks    

• Learn left and right cabling without a cable needle while making this lovely sock. You will also learn how to cast on with Judy’s Magic Cast On.

• If you have a knitted or crocheted problem that will only take 15 minutes or less, please call first to make sure one our staff members can help. It is not always possible for us to help on a drop-in basis.
• If your knitting or crochet problem will take more than 15 minutes, please call us at 828-349-0515 to make an appointment with one of us.

Appointments/lessons can be booked for $25.00 an hour.
