Second Sunday Lunch

Kick off the new year with our first Second Sunday Lunch of 2025 on January 12 right after worship! Everyone is invited to meet in the Fellowship Hall after worship for this time of food and fellowship. As usual, the church will provide the main course, and you're invited to bring a side dish or dessert. You can drop off food in the Fellowship Hall before Sunday School or worship.

Because of the inclement weather forecast for this Friday, the Esther-Grace Circle has rescheduled its monthly meeting to Friday, January 17th at 1:00 in the Mustard Seed classroom. All women are cordially invited to join us. Elyene Thompson will lead us in our study of the Gospel of Mark.

DePaul USA Daybreak Sleepout

The annual Daybreak Greater Macon Sleepout will be Thursday, February 27, and Mulberry will once again have several members participating and raising money to support this ministry. The sleepout is held outdoors in the winter to remind us of those with no choice in housing. This is the big fundraiser for Daybreak - all donations are used locally!

You can support Daybreak and the participants at the links below, by sending a check to Daybreak, or by giving a check directly to the participant.

A Bicentennial Moment

In anticipation of Mulberry’s upcoming Bicentennial Celebration in 2026, the Leonard Hill Cochran Historical Room presents a moment of Mulberry history.

Minutes from The Board of Stewards Meeting, July 27, 1917

“W. G. Solomon was chosen to preside over the regular meeting of the Board on this date, both the Chairman and Vice-Chairman being absent. The Pastor offered prayer. Minutes of the last meeting and current report of Treasurer were both heard and approved for record. The Finance Chairman reported on the condition of the Church with respect to indebtedness.

The Pastor, Dr. T. D. Ellis, asked the Board to appoint a committee to co-operate with him in extending invitations to the military men soon to encamped near Macon to attend the Church services and also to greet the men at Church.  A motion to that effect prevailing, the Chair named as the Committee: G. W. Lingo, H. Persons Heath and Frank Branan.

The Pastor also asked the Board’s approval of his tentative plan to employ the use of the Sunday School rooms for entertaining the men of the Army on Saturday nights. The Board approved of same.”

Morning Prayer of Petition

Holy God, I believe but help my unbelief. As I seek to know you more fully and follow you more faithfully, I confess that I struggle with doubt. Help me today to:

  • confess areas of doubt in my faith,
  • name the places where I chose my own way rather than trusting in you,
  • believe that you can work in areas of my life where I lack hope,
  • grow strong in an area of my faith.

God, even in my searching and wanderings strengthen in me a faith to trust you more fully and to believe in your power to work in my life. Amen.

Evening Prayer of Gratitude

Tonight, God, I come to you with thanksgiving for the ways that you have shown yourself to me. Thank you for showing up to me today:

  • through other people,
  • through small moments of wonder or joy,
  • through moments of difficulty or distress,
  • through signs that reveal your presence.

May I sleep knowing that you are at work in my life and wake up believing that you hold something new in store for me each day. Amen.
