New Robot Improves Orthopaedic Surgery

CHA’s advanced surgical system is transforming the way joint replacement surgery is performed. Our new Mako Robot (made possible thanks to the generous support of the CHA Foundation) uses 3D imagery to fit joint implants. This improved precision leads to shorter hospital stays, quicker recoveries, and better outcomes.

CHA orthopedic surgeon, Dr. John Esposito, completed the first robot assisted joint replacement at CHA in April. He recently joined us from Mass. General Hospital where he led the implementation of robotic assisted hip and knee replacement surgery and was the first to perform these surgeries at that institution.

Some people are more vulnerable to heat. These include very young children, very old adults, people who work or exercise outdoors, people with certain diseases and people who take certain medications. Talk with your health care provider to make a heat safety plan for you or someone in your care.
