W Building Construction Project Update

Week of Oct. 16

Next week crews will begin installing crossover ductwork on the 11th floor and removing old vent stacks and small air handlers on the roof level. This work will likely be slightly more impactful than what was experienced this week, with the most impactful activities scheduled in the morning and lessening as the day goes on, ending at 3 p.m.

Additionally, BU Facilities, Shawmut Construction and the project teams’ electricians have met and are preparing a detailed shutdown plan that will be distributed to the occupants of the W Building in advance of the emergency electrical shutdown planned for Nov. 13.
