AITC Stories Around the Province
Agribition Programming for Students
An all-time high registration of 685 high school students from 17 different schools. The expo featured 8 career pathways in agriculture and food, hosted by volunteers from the agriculture industry. Students met with ag professionals to learn about career possibilities through hands-on learning.
786 middle years students competed to learn new and interesting facts about agriculture from professionals working in the industry. The student groups navigated through the grounds and were challenged to think critically and answer questions posed by participating booths. Thank you to all the volunteers!
From chicks and chickens, to turkeys, sheep, bees, beef and dairy cattle, veterinary medicine, potash, watersheds, science, and more, over 4,300 elementary students (and many more families) were able to get up close and experience agriculture first-hand. This year, AITC-SK ran the Beef and Grains display.
“... I liked exploring all the different careers, and I learnt that agriculture is way more important than we think. Overall, it was very helpful.” - Grade 11 student.
Resource Success Stories
We can't keep up to teacher demand for learning kits! We distributed an incredible 1,718 agriculture learning kits in 2023, that's almost NINE learning kits every school day!
ExploreSaskAg.ca, our kids' agriculture website, had over 130% increase in users in 2023 compared to the prior year. An excellent source of engaging agricultural content.
