Alumni Messenger
Dear Alumni,
What do you think?

Surveys aren't always the most fun thing in the world to complete. I get it. Yet your ideas are vital to me. My job is to foster connections among alumni and between you and MLC. I'm here to support our alumni. I can only do that with your guidance!

Your voice is important, no matter your current title or circumstances. All people who complete the survey will be entered into a drawing to receive an Amazon gift card.

Thank you for helping!

MLC Day Is Almost Here
What is MLC Day? It's a global day for MLC supporters to promote and celebrate ministerial education. We celebrate it on the first Wednesday in May—this year, it's on May 1.

  • Prayerfully GIVE to MLC's mission, and your donation will be matched up to $60,000.
Recruitment 101
Wheat Field with blue sky
The workers are few, and we need more students to consider work in the public ministry.

What can you do? PRAY. "Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field" (Matthew 9:38).

Recruitment Tip: Identify one person with the gifts to be a pastor, teacher, or staff minister. This person can be a child, teen, or adult. Then, could you ask that person if they have considered the ministry? No long conversations are needed!
Memories of Old Main
Here's a great memory from the Class of 1957:

"The class of 1957 received their calls into the teaching ministry while waiting on the steps of Old Main. On a quiet evening in May of '57, we waited on the steps for President Schweppe to call in the assignments to Professor (Doc) Hoenecke. He then walked over from the boys' dorm and read the list. . . . After reading the assignments, we headed to the dorm to wait in line for the one phone to make the call home. We received the actual call at graduation.

"By today's standards, this would seem rather 'crude,' but we felt the same excitement, anxiety, and emotions that a graduate of today would feel. We were ready to begin the service, ''The Calling,' to serve the Lord for which we had been preparing for many years."

- Richard Schlavensky, DMLC Class of 1957

MLCAA Gives to MLC
Did you know? 100% of the donations given to MLCAA provide financial support for non-budgeted campus projects and student scholarships.

  • 70% of the gifts received will support the MLCAA Endowed Scholarship, which grants tuition money to students.

  • 30% of the gifts received will provide outdoor furniture for our students, giving them a comfortable outdoor setting for eating, studying, and socializing.

Join other alumni and consider making a gift to support the scholarship and outdoor furniture purchase.
