This coming Sunday, we will have a Special Congregational Meeting to vote on the proposed budget for 2024 and the proposed Bylaws amendments intended to streamline some of our administrative functioning and lay leadership.

In a typical year, our budget is voted upon at the January Annual Meeting; but, because of the accounting reconstruction that was needed following the untimely passing a year ago of our long-time accountant, John Keys, the appropriate documents just could not be assembled by January.

I am happy to say that under the leadership of our treasurer, Ted Demura-Devore, the accounting reconstruction is near complete and is more streamlined than before. Ted will present the budget, and our moderator, Mano Nguyen, will present the amendments for our bylaws. The efforts of these two people are mirrored by so many others who tirelessly work behind the scenes to ensure that we function well as an organization so that we can truly live into our mission and call.

Mahalo to these many unsung heroes of the church and to the many of you who will join us on Sunday for the Congregational Meeting. If you will be joining us online for this meeting, please register for the meeting with the link in the email that was sent out to members. For all others, the meeting will take place right after our regular Sunday service.

Aloha,

Kahu David
