"The magic in new beginnings is truly the most powerful of them all"

J Martin

Dear WWC Club Members,

Happy New Year!

Can you believe it is January! 2024 came quickly and it is going to be an amazing year to be a part of WWC. We have so many exciting days ahead as bus trips, our Fashion Show, and many activities are being planned. The anticipation of the New Year is off to a great beginning with 206 Members, 44 of which are New Members.

A nominating committee has been formed to fill all board positions for next year. Please let us know if you have interest in board positions for the Executive or General Board. Please find those listed with descriptions on the WWC website. If the position you are interested in is not open this year , we will keep the list for the upcoming club year.

Our January luncheon was a huge success. Julie Bernatz gave an excellent presentation on Swedish Death Cleaning and Organization. I know she has prompted all of us to take stock of our closets and pantries. Cathy Werder’s centerpieces with Red Cardinals and bottle bird feeders made us all smile. Being together with a delicious meal and much laughter was comfort on a winter’s day.

Thank you for all you do for WWC. Welcome to all of our fabulous new members. We look forward to getting to know each of you. We are planning a New Member Event for February. Stay tuned for more details.

Wishing you continued good health.

Be well and warm in the cold days ahead!

Leah

Our speaker will be Ryan Zimmerman, owner of Z-FIT, a local personal training gym where he and his team help people of all ages improve their health and longevity. His talk, “Function over 50” will include the top three things to incorporate into our fitness programs as we age. A perfect topic for Valentine’s Day - let’s love and appreciate movement and strength!

4. No refunds are given for any reason after Noon on the Friday before the luncheon because we have to turn in our billed head count to the country club at that time.

Our charity focus for February will be Note in the Pocket. Their mission is to provide quality clothing to homeless and impoverished children and families with dignity, love. We will be collecting clothing, underwear, shoes and socks for these children in need. Note in the Pocket is also in need of volunteers who would be willing to volunteer for 2 hours to package for these children. If interested a sheet will be going around to sign up at the luncheon with time and date.

Thank you again for your generous donations of books to the Masonic Home for Children. The staff and children were very excited to receive all these wonderful books.
