Peninsula Leader Peter Ohtaki Pursues Open Eshoo Congressional Seat

Peter Ohtaki's race for Congress in the Peninsula's 16th District was given a boost recently when Representative Anna Eshoo announced her retirement. A crisis manager and former mayor of Menlo Park, Ohtaki had already started running before Eshoo's announcement.

As the nation faces security threats abroad and economic threats at home from inflation and overspending, Peter Ohtaki's experience in homeland security and financial management would be valuable in Congress. His security experience includes his current job as Vice President of Enterprise Incident Management at a major bank. He leads emergency planning for disasters, physical attacks, and cyber attacks, working with public-private teams to prepare in advance and respond effectively. . . . read more

Baseball Legend Steve Garvey Competes for Open U.S. Senate Seat

Former World Series Champion and National League MVP Steve Garvey offers California Republicans the opportunity to win a U.S. Senate seat for the first time in recent memory.

The latest poll by Politico showed Steve Garvey finishing in the top two in the March primary with 19% of the vote along with Democrat Adam Schiff who led the field with 28%. Democrat Congressmembers Katie Porter and Barbara Lee trailed Garvey with 17% and 14% respectively.

Steve Garvey’s rapid rise in the polls since his entry into the Senate race last fall reflects the huge following he earned as one of Major League Baseball’s brightest stars. Garvey played for the Los Angeles Dodgers and the San Diego Padres from 1969-1987. . . . read more
