Lynnette Buffington Announces Resignation from Greater Grays Harbor, Inc.

After three and half years of service, Lynnette has announced her resignation from GGHI, effective January 12, 2024.

Grays Harbor College/Elma School District Part of New Partnership for Student Learning

GHC and Elma School District have been selected as one of 25 regional partnerships to join Limitless, a Postsecondary Enrollment Learning Network managed by Education First with funding from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.


Grays Harbor Transit Extends Free Fares through 2024

The extension of free fares includes all fixed routes in all zones, as well as Dial-a-Ride and Specialized Van Service.


Gary Nelson Announces Retirement as Port of Grays Harbor Executive Director

Nelson was hired as Executive Director in April 2000. At that time the Port had only 21 vessel calls, handled 85,000 metric tons of cargo, and had an operating budget of $5.2 million. By the end of 2023 the Port says that they are projected to have 100 vessel calls and handle more than 3 million metric tons of cargo with an operating budget of nearly $40 million. 


Westport Winery Wins State Business Award

The company won the Association of Washington Business’ (AWB) Excellence in Family Owned Business honor.

Equitable Access to Credit Program

This tax credit program awards grants to qualified lending institutions to provide businesses in historically underserved communities with access to credit.


Agencies Come Together for Shop with a Cop

More than a dozen law enforcement agencies from the coast to the county line and 56 kids participated in the 24th iteration of Grays Harbor’s Shop with a Cop event.


Getting Certified with OMWBE Can Make Your Business Visible to Government Purchasers

The Office of Minority and Women’s Business Enterprises (OMWBE) certifies small businesses owned and controlled by minority, women, and socially and economically disadvantaged persons. OMWBE certifies business in order to increase contracting opportunities for certified businesses with state and local governments.


2023 General Election: Final Results

The November General Election has been certified, and although 100 votes were added to the final total, no changes were made in close races.
