2025 Spring Learning Series
The Building Stronger Neighborhoods Committee is hosting the 2025 Spring Learning Series. The series is a set of three hands-on workshops intended to share best practices and strengthen the work of individuals and organizations working to enhance Spokane neighborhoods. Everyone is welcome at the workshops and attendance at more than one workshop is encouraged.
- Parliamentary Procedure Basics (Saturday, Feb. 15, 10:30–11:30 a.m. @ The Hive).
- Empowered Communication (Saturday, March 15, 10:30–11:30 a.m. @ The Hive).

Neighborhood Business Districts Grant Contribute to the future of your neighborhood! Whether you do business, work, or live in one of Spokane’s neighborhood business districts, you are invited to a kickoff gathering to learn about the City of Spokane's American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) grant meant to improve public spaces, support local businesses, and enhance the overall quality of life and business. The kickoff meetings will be:
- South Perry: Monday, Feb. 10, from 5:30–7 p.m. at Grant Elementary School, 1300 E. Ninth Ave.
- North Monroe: Monday, Feb. 17, 5–6:30 p.m. at the Corbin Senior Activity Center, 827 W. Cleveland Ave.
- Garland: Monday, Feb. 24, 5:30–7 p.m. location TBD
- Hillyard: TBD

Asphalt Art Crosswalks
The survey results are in, and the Asphalt Art crosswalk locations are:
- District 1: 601 W. Mallon Ave. by the Flour Mill AND Wellesley Ave. and Pittsburg St.
- District 2: 509 E. 33rd Ave. by Sacajawea Middle School AND Lincoln Dr. and Comstock Ct.
- District 3: 800 W. Garland Ave. by the Milk Bottle AND Carlisle Ave. and Belt St. by Audubon Elementary School.
Spokane Arts will be working with the neighborhoods, like they do with the intersections, on the designs.

It's Snow Season!
Snow season is here and it’s time to move those boats, RVs, and basketball hoops off the street. Make sure your shovels are out of storage, snow blower is working, and ice melt and sand are on hand. And don’t forget to park on the odd side of the street when a full City plow is announced. Join “Adopt A Neighbor” and Make Winter Brighter for Seniors and Individuals with Disabilities!
Winter can be challenging, especially for older adults and individuals with disabilities who need help with snow removal. By adopting a neighbor, you’ll provide vital snow removal assistance during the 2024-2025 season. It’s easy to get involved! Winter Food and Yard Waste Cart Pickup
Keep filling up your green cart with food scraps, food-soiled paper, and yard debris! City of Spokane food and yard waste customers can have their green carts emptied February 3-7 on their normal collection day of the week. Remember!
