From the Principal

This week, Jim Rasmussen from Divine Shepherd shared our Academy chapel message based on the account of the disciples walking with Jesus on the road to Emmaus. The disciples Jesus joined on the road did not recognize Him. Luke makes it clear that they believed Jesus' ministry was over; they are downcast and disappointed as they share their account of His death. They were disappointed in Jesus; He had failed to live up to their expectations of a Savior.

Have you ever been disappointed with God? Broken relationships, canceled plans, poverty, and social unrest are upsetting and can lead to wondering, "Where is God?" Amid our sinful world, God's word, prayer, and corporate worship remind us of God's presence. He comes to us, and through His word we learn about God's great love and perfect plan for salvation. Just as the disciples on that road were blessed to hear from Him about how He had fulfilled scripture and recounted, "Were not our hearts burning within us while He talked with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?"

God is with us, God loves us, and His plan is perfect - even when we can't see it!

In His service,

Mr. Domsch
