Raise Your Glass Recap

Raise Your Glass is always a favorite of the CaringMatters community and that certainly proved true on Tuesday, May 21st at Windridge Vineyards! The beautiful weather and gorgeous sunset were added bonuses for the sold out crowd! The 10th Annual Raise Your Glass featured delicious wine and food, great raffle prizes, spectacular floral decorations donated by EDGE Floral Event Designs, and live acoustic music by the Grasso Brothers - all at an incredibly picturesque and welcoming venue. Thank you to everyone who joined us for this festive evening to socialize, make new connections and learn more about CaringMatters' positive impact in the community.

All of the funds raised will help ensure access to our free compassionate support services for those in Montgomery County facing serious illness, caregiving challenges, end-of-life, loss and grief.

Live Well To Die Well:

An Interactive Talk with Author and Educator Chris Palmer

Thursday, June 6, 2024, 10:00 am – 11:00 am

To live well is to get ready to die well. Our daily lives create the person we will be when we die and, thus, the kind of death we will experience. This educational talk will explore goals, strategies, and tactics we can adopt to live meaningful, fulfilled, and productive lives.

Chris will lead participants in a reflection of our own lives:

contemplate what matters deeply to us
find purpose and meaning
devise a personal mission statement
examine how to take better care of ourselves
explore how all of these practices can impact on the quality of our death

Registration

Chris Palmer is an author, speaker, wildlife filmmaker, conservationist, educator, professor, and grandfather. He dedicated his professional career to conservation but now devotes his life to death and dying issues. His latest book, Achieving a Good Death: A Practical Guide to the End of Life, will be published by Rowman & Littlefield in October 2024. He is a trained hospice volunteer and founded and runs an aging, death, and dying group for the Bethesda Metro Area Village. Read more about Chris Palmer HERE.
