Gratitude for Sra. Brody


After decades of service to our community, our school Librarian Stacey Brody has announced her retirement.


Please join us as we show our gratitude for her compassion and dedication. Sra. Brody has shared her love of reading with thousands of Puesta del Sol children over the years. She will be so missed!


The current students have all been given postcards to write a poem, share a memory, or draw a picture for Sra. Brody. If you would like additional cards to print at home, they can be found here: https://puestadelsolpta.org/Doc/Library/SraBrodyPostCardsR1.pdf. All the postcards will be collected and put into a book for Sra. Brody. We would also love to include printed photos of her with students in the book!


Cards and printed photos may be put in the box in the Front Office or given to your child’s teacher. The completed book will be presented to Sra. Brody at this year’s 5th Grade Teacher Tea. Please turn in cards or printed photos no later than June 1st.

Volunteer Appreciation Lunch!

If you have volunteered your time in any way this school year, please join us for the Volunteer Appreciation Lunch on June 11th between 11:15am and 1:00pm


Please join us on the patio outside the Teatro. We are having this lunch on Field Day as many of you will already be at school this day. If you are signed up to volunteer for Field Day, please make sure to check in at the Welcome Table. If you are coming just for lunch, please check in at the Main Office.

Cross-Cultural PTA Family Programs Coming in '24-'25


Puesta del Sol PTA has been selected as an organization to be part of the City of Bellevue's "Cross-Cultural Center without Walls." This program offers funding for local organizations to host events or workshops that bring people together around shared intercultural experiences. For the '24-'25 school year, the PTA will host three family engagement events that highlight similar cultural traditions our community. The fall event will focus on Dia de los Muertos and Jesa (Korean). Please contact Carla at diversity@puestadelsolpta.org  to join the planning committee for this exciting program; all levels of commitment are welcome!

Special General Membership Meeting


Please join your Puesta del Sol PTA for one last General Membership Meeting! We will be meeting online, via Zoom, on Monday, June 10th at 8:00pm to vote in our new PTA President and Treasurer-Payables.

Be a Bellevue School District Volunteer

Summer EBT (SUN Bucks) is Launching in 2024! 

Beginning this summer, the state of Washington will launch a new Summer EBT program called SUN Bucks. The program will provide families with $120 for each eligible school-aged child to buy food when school is out. 

 

SUN Bucks will be issued beginning mid-June through the end of August 2024. Once qualified, families will receive an approval notice and SUN Bucks EBT card within 7 to 10 business days via U.S. Mail. SUN Bucks benefits expire 122 days from issuance. 

The Bellevue School District has partnered with Care Solace to complement districtwide efforts to provide our learning community with access to mental health care and support student well-being. Care Solace is a central hub that connects students, staff and their families to care. At no cost to you, Care Solace will quickly and confidentially find available mental health and substance use providers matched to your needs.

Care Solace helps school districts provide care coordination for every student, staff member, and family member in need. The Care Solace team is always available — including nights, weekends, and holidays — in 200+ languages.
