Town: Los Gatos Allocated $1M for Emergency Preparedness

In response to recent wildfires in Southern California, last week the Los Gatos Town Council approved $1 million for emergency management initiatives to enhance preparedness and response capabilities. Key elements of the funding include: Hiring a full-time emergency manager to oversee the town’s disaster readiness and emergency response funding for immediate needs in case of wildfires, earthquakes, or other disasters. The funds will come from the town’s capital projects reserve.

National: Recent Presidential Executive Orders May Impact Your Business

We encourage Chamber Members to stay proactively informed, through official government releases and reputable news sources, about executive orders and other coming regulation changes. To navigate potential implications for your business effectively:

Review Policies to ensure compliance with evolving regulations.
Seek Legal Guidance for clarity on new requirements.
Communicate with Employees to maintain transparency and workplace stability.

Key Areas of Impact:

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI): Federal agencies must eliminate DEI programs, which may influence private-sector policies, particularly for businesses engaged in federal contracting.
Workplace & Gender Policies: A federal mandate now defines gender based on biological sex, potentially affecting employee policies and compliance with regulations.
Environmental Regulations: Rollbacks on federal environmental policies could lead to shifts in compliance requirements and sustainability initiatives.
Immigration: Stricter enforcement measures may impact workforce availability, particularly in industries reliant on immigrant labor. Federal Contracting: New restrictions on DEI-related hiring practices for federal contractors may require policy adjustments.

Get Fresh Valentine’s Week kicks off with our Downtown Sweetheart Stroll on Saturday, February 8. The fun continues with Galentine’s Day on February 13 and ends with Valentine’s Day on February 14. Apply to be a Superbowl Vendor

Interested in Being a Local Supplier/Subcontractor for Super Bowl LX in 2026?

Levi's Stadium will be hosting the Super Bowl in 2026. The NFL in partnership with the San Francisco 49ers and Bay Area Host Committee (BAHC) is inviting Silicon Valley businesses to apply and become an official supplier/vendor for Super Bowl LX. If your business is in the food/catering; event production; or services spaces (including transportation, construction & maintenance, security), take advantage of the opportunity to support the production of this world class event. You will need to apply for selection as a subcontractor. The application deadline is TOMORROW, 1/31/25.

Complete the Superbowl LX Source Program Application (takes 10 minutes) by TOMORROW, 1/31/25

If accepted, businesses will receive:

Inclusion in the Official Member Directory shared with the NFL and the Bay Area Host Committee’s primary contractors and event producers
