Senate Bill 1383 Compliance Reminder

As we head into the new year, we want to gently remind the Eastvale community about the important goals of Senate Bill (SB) 1383, California's law aimed at reducing organic waste and fighting climate change. This law helps reduce greenhouse gas emissions by diverting organic materials such food scraps and yard trimmings from landfills, where they produce harmful methane.

For our residential and commercial customers, you can continue placing your organic waste in the green waste cart. Organic waste includes food scraps, yard trimmings, and food soiled paper. This material is composted, turning it into nutrient-rich soil that helps support healthier ecosystems. It’s a simple and impactful way to reduce waste and make a positive difference for our planet.

In addition to source-separating organic waste, some commercial customers are classified as edible food generators under SB 1383. These businesses are also required to donate surplus edible food and establish an agreement with a food recovery organization. This effort supports California's goal of recovering 20% of edible food for human consumption that would otherwise end up in landfills. By participating, businesses play a vital role in reducing food waste and helping those in need. Together, we can all play a part in meeting California’s climate goals and making our community more sustainable.

For more information and resources on how to comply with SB 1383, please visit SB 1383 Compliance Resources. For specific questions and assistance, please contact Simone Blackwell at sblackwell@eastvaleca.gov or by phone at 951.703.4405. Thank you for doing your part to protect the environment and ensure compliance with SB 1383.

Inspiring Local Youth Through Music

Recently, The Private Lesson School gave multiple Eastvale youth an opportunity to perform on a world-class stage!

The recital featured students, ranging from beginners to advanced musicians. This extraordinary opportunity provided the young musicians with not only invaluable performance experience but also a glimpse into the professional world of music.

The Private Lesson School serves students from Temecula, Eastvale, Corona, Chino Hills, Fullerton, Alhambra, and beyond, offering a comprehensive music education program that goes beyond private lessons. By creating opportunities like this recital, the school encourages young musicians to dream big and strive for expressing themselves through music.

Congratulations to the Eastvale students that were able to participate and play at the San Gabriel Mission Playhouse!

Eastvale Welcomes Staybridge Suites

This week, the Batta family, the Chamber of Commerce, and the City of Eastvale celebrated the official ribbon-cutting of Staybridge Suites Eastvale!

A huge thank you to the hundreds of attendees who joined us to mark this special occasion. We are grateful for your support in making Eastvale a premier destination for business and leisure!

January Book Club

In early January, our Eastvale community gathered for our monthly Book Club, and we were thrilled to see our biggest turnout yet! A big thank you to our partners at the Eastvale Library for their support!

January's book, What Alice Forgot, is a thought-provoking and emotional novel that follows Alice, a 39-year-old woman who wakes up on the floor of a gym after a head injury, only to discover she has lost the last ten years of her memory. In her mind, she is still 29, happily married, and expecting her first child. However, the reality she faces is starkly different. The group undoubtedly had a lively discussion with this book!

The February book club will be on Monday, February 24 at City Hall once again. Stay active on our social media to find out the book!

The Eastvale Community Steps Up BIG

The Eastvale Community steps up BIG!

On January 11, many members and agencies came together to host a donation drive for those affected by the LA fires. A huge thank you to all those that donated to this wonderful cause!

Over the course of the drive, we collected an enormous amount of clothing, blankets, food, water, and other essential items. More than 100 volunteers dedicated their time to sorting, organizing, and loading up items.

We’d also like to recognize the great contributions and support from so many leaders, many of whom not only showed up to donate, but also assisted with the overall collection effort. They include:

- Congresswoman Norma Torres

- Mayor Mike McMinn

- CNUSD Board Member Chris Raahauge

- Eastvale City Manager Mark Orme

Additionally, we received tremendous support from many of our community organizations and businesses including:

- Eastvale Kiwanis Club

- Eastvale Chamber of Commerce

- ERHS Key Club

- Eastvale Kiwanis Youth Volunteers

- Eastvale SLAC Club

- Rotary Club of Greater Eastvale

- Eastvale Chinese American Association

At this time, we do not have another donation day scheduled. If you would like to contribute to this cause, please visit https://www.lafoodbank.org/fire/?

Eastvale Expands Business Incentive Loan Program

In October 2024, the Eastvale City Council approved revisions to the City’s Business Incentive Loan Program Policy and expanded the criteria to allow both new and existing high-end, upscale, or premium casual dining restaurants to apply. This program promotes Eastvale as an excellent location for quality businesses, boosts business expansion opportunities, and enhances local economic growth.

Businesses receiving funds through Eastvale’s Business Incentive Loan Program can utilize funds on purchases of business equipment, furniture, and fixtures and working capital expenses. These businesses must also remain operational in Eastvale for at least seven years before the loans are forgiven. The Eastvale City Council retains the ability to approve or deny received loan applications.

The program allows the City to guide economic growth while creating a more vibrant environment for small and medium-sized businesses. More information regarding the program can be found HERE.
