Happy Friday friends and family. I'm counting my blessings as we have arrived safely at the end of another week. This week saw our high school students spending time on the central California coast for their Biology trip. What a neat experience to be up close and personal with elephant seals, kayaking with the otters, tide pooling, morning surf sessions, a visit to the Monterey Bay Aquarium and just a lot of overall good, quality time together. We were blessed with beautiful beach weather. It's a joy to spend time with our kids, especially out in God's creation!
In today's world, there are so many distractions. As adults we have more tools to navigate these pitfalls and prioritize our time better, or at least I like to think so! However I am often reminded that our plates can get very, very full. Too full in fact! Making it hard to find the time to prioritize the things that bring us closer to Jesus and those in need around us. It was wonderful to slow down a little bit this week with the kids. Less phones, more interactions. It really does help fill our cups back up!
With this thought in mind, we have elected to do a Read-a-thon as our Spring Fundraiser. Enough phones, tablets and other electronics! We are going back to basics and encouraging our students to pick up a book and read! All proceeds will go to benefit our Worthy Student Fund, which helps dozens of kids each year.
Be ready! We have encouraged our students to reach out to their family, friends and church members to sponsor their reading! We thank you in advance for your prayers and continued support of our school. Wishing each of you a wonderful weekend ahead!
