PTSA NEWS

Message from the President

I can’t believe April is already here and we’re about to head off to Spring Break. Since we will not have a newsletter for the next couple of weeks to allow our AMAZING Communications team time to enjoy Spring Break with their families, I wanted to take a brief moment to check in with families and staff on a few key messages.

First, I’d like to invite everyone to attend our next General Membership Meeting on Wednesday, April 17 at 7pm in the RHS Library. We have a lot of business to cover at that meeting, including voting in our 2024-2025 PTSA Board of Directors and approving our 2024-2025 Budget. We’d love to see as many members there as possible.

Speaking of elections…we also need YOU to be part of our Board next year! Our Nominating Committee has been working hard to identify candidates to serve on our Board next year but has been unable to identify anyone to take over some key positions. Most importantly, we still need a President—without a President, we don’t have a PTSA! I can tell you from experience these last two years as your President, the job isn’t nearly as difficult or daunting as I had feared when I agreed to take on the role. There is plenty of training available and I’ve created some “cheat sheets,” scripts, and templates that I can pass along to my successor to ease the transition into the role.

I also want to remind everyone that our wonderful Arts Fair is returning to RHS on Saturday, May 4. Please plan on stopping by to see various arts and crafts on display and for sale. For those who have ordered floral hanging baskets, you’ll be able to pick up those baskets at that event. If you haven’t ordered your hanging baskets yet, you still have time. They are perfect gifts for Mother’s Day on May 12 or to recognize your favorite staff member for Teacher Appreciation Week on May 6-10!

Finally, I hope you all have a wonderful and restful Spring Break. Let’s hope for some sun!

As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to me at President@redmondhsptsa.org.

WSPTA Recognizes RHS PTSA with Platinum Membership Growth Award!

RHS PTSA has recently been recognized by Washington State PTA as a Platinum Membership Growth Award recipient! PTSAs are presented with this award for enrolling at least 20% more members this year than last year. That means our PTSA growth has been truly exceptional! Thank you to everyone who has become a member so far this year: YOU are the reason our PTSA achieved this award!

Be sure to remember to re-join the RHS PTSA every new school year as your current-year membership does not rollover. By doing so, you will be demonstrating your support for our PTSA and all it does for Redmond High School year after year.
