In-Person & Virtual Worship Services Sunday,
January 26, 2025
Presentation of Our Lord
ONE 9:45am Blended Service
Sunday School 10:45am
All services will be live-streamed to Facebook & YouTube.
Pastor Dawn asks everyone to bring a candle from home for worship this Sunday.
Introduction
The Presentation of Our Lord is referred to in some corners of the church as Candlemas because of an ancient tradition of blessing all the candles to be used in the church in the coming year at the mass celebrated on that day. It was a way of underscoring the truth of Simeon’s confession that this baby Jesus was “a light for revelation to the Gentiles” and a light for glory to Israel. Let the light of every candle in church be a little epiphany of the love of God for all people in the person of God’s son, Jesus, the light of the world.
Readings
Malachi 3:1-4
My messenger is a refiner and purifier
Psalm 84
How dear to me is your dwelling, O Lord. (Ps. 84:1)
Hebrews 2:14-18
Jesus shares human flesh and sufferings
Luke 2:22-40
The child is brought to the temple

What to Donate to the Clothing Shed | |
Our Blessing Box is a blessing to those around us that are in need and it’s frequently empty. Please think about adding a few items when you do your weekly shop.
Now that it has started getting colder, please consider Warm hats, gloves, hand warmers, hot cocoa mix packs.
Just make sure you don't put regular clothes or blankets in the boxes or on the ground.
We also don't want to forget our homeless who always are in need of basic toiletries.
If you choose to bring food, consider adding it to the shelves in the kitchen to be rationed out to the box daily. You may also put items in the box from the kitchen (just not everything) if you so choose.
Also remember that NO household items, clothing, expired or fresh (perishable) food should be left in the box.
Thank you for your generosity and for being a part of this wonderful initiative.
Please text or email Cheryl Herberg (615) 300-6283, if you have any questions.
