CONGRATULATIONS are extended to Samuel McPherson, son of Luke McPherson and Karen Wray; to Ariya Younan, daughter of David Younan and Dagmara Wozniak; to Gianluca Pszczola, daughter of Rafal Pszczola and Dolores Caranci; to Jedidiah Kennedy, son of David Kennedy and Jian Jiang; to Luca Matthews, son of Ryan Matthews and Laura Sovran; to Elijah Carrelas, son of Jason and Laura Carrelas; to Nico Muellejans, son of Michael Muellejans and Angela Monaco; to Dominic Bow Pearce, son of Joshua Pearce and Jennifer Bow; to Neve Peck, daughter of Douglas Peck and Jessica McPherson; and to Arielle Paradinha, daughter of Ricardo and Jacqueline Paradinha, as they receive their First Communion today. We pray that Samuel, Ariya, Gianluca, Jedidiah, Luca, Elijah, Nico, Dominic, Neve, and Arielle grow in the wisdom and knowledge of the Lord and that their families provide them with a witness of God’s love throughout their lives.

HORIZONS OF HOPE is a program of the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops (CCCB) Committee on Palliative Care that addresses the increasing complexities regarding end-of-life issues in Canada. It is designed to help caregivers, the sick and dying, and family members to find support and concrete assistance Our parish is presenting a series of sessions, based on the tools provided by the program to address questions surrounding palliative care, dying, death, suffering, accompaniment, and bereavement in a holistic fashion. The next sessions are on May 18 and June 15 in the Parish Hall at 2:00 PM. If interested in taking part, please register with Lisa Caeiro.

IGNATIAN SPIRITUAL EXERCISES: Laura Béres, Professor of Social Work at King’s University College and trained spiritual director, has been involved with a group of spiritual directors through Soul Stream. This past year they offered the Everyday, or 19th annotation, version of the Ignatian Spiritual Exercises which involved monthly online group meetings and weekly meetings with a Spiritual Director offered to support your journey through the Exercises. There will be an online session to learn more about Soul Stream’s next offering of the Ignatian Spiritual Exercises on Monday, May 27, 2024, at 7:00 PM ET. If you would like to participate in this online conversation, please email Esther at aneverydaypilgrim@gmail.com for the Zoom link. REFLECTIONS FROM THE SYNOD: On Monday, May 6 at 7:00PM Linda Staudt will present “Reflections from the Synod – A Conversation in the Spirit” at Good Shepherd Parish in Tecumseh. More information is found at this link.

 

NATIONAL FAMILY AND LIFE WEEK: The CCCB has released a pastoral toolkit for National Family and Life Week (NFLW) from May 13 to 19, 2024. Many useful resources for prayer, activities can be found at this link.


A YOUNG ADULT CATHOLIC'S GUIDE TO 'ADULTING' is an event featuring Keynote Speaker Paul J. Kim. Young adults between the ages of 18 to 35 years of age are invited to attend on Wednesday, May 22 at Holy Family Parish in London at 7:00PM. The evening will include a time of praise and worship, keynote address, a time of fellowship, and more. Please click on this link for more information.


UNLEASHING THE POWER RALLY 2024: On Wednesday, May 22 at 9:30AM to 2:30 PM at Holy Family Parish in London, the Youth, Young Adult & Family Ministry Office is thrilled to present "Unleashing the Power" Youth Rallies featuring the charismatic Catholic speaker, Paul J. Kim. This day will be filled with music, prayer, Paul's inspiring keynote address, lunch, and much more. This event is geared to young people 13+ and especially to present and past Confirmation students. The aim of the gathering is to empower young people to become future leaders within their Church family. More information can be found at this link

  

ANNUAL ST. PETER'S SEMINARY APPEAL: Please take a moment to read Bishop Fabbro’s letter for the Annual Parish Appeal for St. Peter’s Seminary. It is available in English and French. We are asked to consider supporting the Seminary, as generously as circumstances allow.

ST. JOE’S CAFÉ  The King’s community continues to support those in need in our community by serving on Saturdays from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. We are in particular need for volunteers on May 18.
