Happy New Year!

What a blessing it is to begin 2024 here with you in Rutherfordton!

I am thrilled to be sharing with you the first e-news of 2024. My hope is that each Wednesday when you receive it, you'll pause to read through what is happening in the life of our church and how you can get involved in all the ministry and mission that happens day in and day out here at 246 N Main and around the world.

This Sunday is Epiphany Sunday and we'll be celebrating the visit of the Magi. We'll also be sharing communion with one another, something I hope we do on a monthly basis.

Next week, we'll kick off the new year with the return of Tuesday morning, Tuesday evening, and Wednesday evening activities. If your schedule allows, I hope to see you there!

Blessings,

Aimee

Wednesday nights resume NEXT Wednesday, January 10!

Thank you for your generosity in supporting the work of CBF Field Personnel around the world!

This Christmas season, we collected $1,105. It's not too late to give! You are welcome to contribute year-round by noting on your envelope "Offering for Global Missions."

CHECK OUT WHAT'S HAPPENING:

  • Can you help put away our Christmas decorations? If so, make plans to come at 2:00 p.m. this Sunday afternoon to lend a hand!

  • Year-End Giving Statements will be available for pick-up beginning this Sunday. Email Tina if you prefer to have yours mailed.

  • Tuesday Playgroup (S.A.M.E. = Science, Art, Math, Exploration) is back next Tuesday, January 9 from 10:00 a.m. - Noon. All preschoolers with an adult friend are welcome to come and explore the classrooms for 2 hours of open play (wear play clothes!). For more information, email Donna.

  • B.I.G. Bible Study (Be Imitators of God) and Children's Choir resume next Tuesday, January 9 from 6:15 to 7:30 p.m. Ages 3 through 5th grade are welcome!

  • The youth meet each Sunday night for a meal and Bible study and need more sponsors to provide meals! If your family or Sunday school class would be interested in helping, sign-up by emailing John or signing up in the Welcome Center.

  • FUGE Youth Camp is June 17-21 at Carson-Newman University in TN. $75.00 deposits are past due! Email John if your student is interested in attending.

  • The Yokefellow item for January is canned meats. If you can donate any, please bring them to the church office.

  • You're invited to help provide breakfast for the students at Spindale Elementary by donating pop tarts, granola bars, or breakfast bars. Drop your donation by the church office anytime during the school year and we'll make sure it is delivered to the school.
