Keep Cool Miami - Summer Camp Heat Preparedness Training *

This heat season come join a virtual training on heat health preparedness by the Heat Office of Miami-Dade County and The Children's Trust as part of the initiative. The training take place at 9:30 a.m. on May 28 and will teach how to identify, recognize and respond to heat related illness, the current state of increasing temperature in Miami-Dade, and county resources available. Young Talent Big Dreams Finals on Saturday - Tickets Still Available *

Ticket are still available for the finals of Young Talent Big Dreams, the most widespread local youth talent contest in Miami-Dade County history. The 2024 competition for student performers ages 8-17 will be held on May 11 at 7 p.m. at Actors’ Playhouse at the Miracle Theatre in Coral Gables. The Children’s Trust is the presenting sponsor of the talent competition that features a total of six individual categories including pop/rock/rap vocals, musical theatre/jazz standards/classical vocals, dance, musical instrument, original spoken word and original vocal and/or instrumental composition. Free Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Youth in Miami-Dade County at UM

Thanks to The Children's Trust Parenting and Family Strengthening Grant, the CAMAT Program is providing free evaluations and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to youth in Miami-Dade County. Children (ages 7-12) are eligible to participate in free group CBT with a simultaneous parent group for 15 weeks. Community Engagement Manager $61,565.02-$107,738.79 Annual

The Community Engagement Manager is responsible for performing a variety of community-driven duties with an emphasis on maintaining contact with community groups, parents and other caregivers, providing support to residents on children’s needs, as well as evaluating and responding to community needs concerning children. The incumbent exercises independence of action and will possess considerable knowledge of community activities and needs for children and families and use considerable professional judgment in the performance of community engagement work. Key skills include: Grant administration, Budget management, Systems Management, Customer service, Data Entry, Financial processing, Analytics, Fiscal systems. 


Community Grants Administrator - $61,565.02 Annual

The Community Grants Administrator is responsible for the general administration of the Community Engagement and Outreach grants program and maintenance of the Community Engagement budget and reporting, in conjunction with the Associate Director of Community Engagement. Work performed by the Community Grants Administrator includes monitoring contracts, agreements, scopes of work, deliverables, purchase orders and preparing reports for the Community Engagement Department, Communications Department and executive management. Job Postings for Breakthrough Miami

Development Coordinator - Events, Engagement & Stewardship *

The Development Coordinator will support donor and adult volunteer stewardship, engagement opportunities, and development events. Serving as a connector between donors and the program, the Development Coordinator will collaboratively develop stewardship and engagement plans and support special events management to create meaningful experiences and connections. The Development Coordinator will also support operational needs including refining processes for acknowledgement, gift reporting and pledge collections.


The individual in this role must be able to endorse and communicate the Breakthrough spirit and mission; be a skilled relationship builder, comfortable with donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship; and have excellent writing and strong event planning/coordination skills.


Site Director *

The Site Director manages the staff and day-to-day operations of the school year and summer programs at one of Breakthrough Miami’s six host school sites. This position is responsible for ensuring all program operations are aligned with Breakthrough Miami’s vision, mission and goals; and for continuously improving educational enrichment and operational processes.

 

The individual in this role is able to operate effectively in diverse environments, achieve outcomes in a flexible, fast-paced environment, lead change and inspire others to action, and communicate consistently and effectively.

 

Assistant Site Director *

The Assistant Site Director (ASD) is responsible for the efficient and effective delivery of programs and services that most directly affect Breakthrough Miami Scholars and families. An ASD oversees campus or site logistics, unpaid student volunteers and some stipended positions, such as Teaching Fellows. As an ambassador of the program, the ASD builds supportive relationships with students, parents, schools, the community and other stakeholders to ensure the academic and socio-enrichment success of all Breakthrough Scholars. 

 

The individual in this role is organized, self-motivated and collaborative, with strong communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.


Summer Instructional Coaches *

Summer Instructional Coaches (ICs) are experienced and successful professional educators who provide content specific support for BTM Teaching Fellows throughout the summer and engage fully in the BTM community. ICs dictate the level of academic rigor during Breakthrough Miami’s summer program through their interactions with Teaching Fellows. They effectively communicate content specifics to Teaching Fellows, guide Fellows through effective planning and execution, and hold both Fellows and students to the highest standards. ICs are expected to lead department meetings, visit Fellows’ classes at least twice a week, evaluate lesson plans and curriculum overviews, and meet individually with Fellows regarding their on-going work. Since ICs are the only professional teachers on-site, they are accountable for the quality of instruction students receive, and are responsible for supporting BTM Teaching Fellows through their teaching experiences. This role starts on June 10, 2023 and ends on August 4, 2023.

 

The individuals in this role must have a State of Florida Teaching Certificate or equivalent; an outstanding track record as a professional classroom teacher; exceptional interpersonal skills; the ability to deliver positive, constructive and honest feedback; and creativity, energy and commitment to excellence.

Family Support Counselor

The Family Support Counselor in Broward is responsible for the provision of advocacy, care coordination services, counseling, parenting training and psychoeducational groups to families of children with disabilities, individuals with developmental and other disabilities who are raising children, their families and care givers as well as professionals and others seeking assistance.

Training and Experience: Masters level, licensed or license eligible social worker or mental health professional. Minimum of 2 years experience with client population and knowledge of local community strongly preferred. 

Salary Range: $60,000-$65,000.



Family Support Coordinator

The Family Support Coordinator is responsible for the provision of advocacy, support and linkage services to individuals with developmental and other disabilities, their families and caregivers as well as professionals and others seeking assistance. Utilizes strength-based strategies to build families’ protective factors.


Training and Experience Requirements: Bachelor's in social work or related field. Minimum of 2 years-experience working with families who have children with disabilities and knowledge of local community strongly preferred. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Bilingual English-Spanish required.


Salary Range: $40,000 - $45,000. It offers 100% employer-paid medical benefits, 12 paid holidays, and generous PTO.
