Volunteers Needed for HisAbilities Respite Night
Deadline to Register is March 30
| | |
Christ Covenant’s HisAbilities ministry needs volunteers for our upcoming Spring Respite Night on Saturday, April 20. This event is a wonderful opportunity for our church to come alongside Christ Covenant families impacted by disability by providing a few hours of respite for parents while their children are cared for and engaged by a team of volunteers providing a safe environment with a variety of fun activities! Volunteers must be a member of Christ Covenant, but no experience with disabilities is needed to serve (training resources are provided and we work to make sure our volunteers are serving in a capacity in which they are comfortable). The evening is always a rich blessing and a great time to make encouraging connections with this special part of our church body! Respite Night is held in the lower level of the Community Life Center, from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm.
To learn more or register to volunteer please contact Amy Van Dusen at avandusen@christcovenant.org. The deadline for volunteer registration is March 30. And if you are a member or attending family impacted by disability or special needs who would benefit from participating or would just like to learn more about Respite Night, please contact Amy Van Dusen as well. Participants need to register by April 6.

Parking and Seating for Easter
Sunday, March 31
| | |
As we prepare to welcome guests, friends, and neighbors for our Easter morning worship service, we are asking for your help with parking and seating. We encourage all families to travel to church in one car if possible to help with parking. Also, if you are able and willing to park at Covenant Day Middle School, the Youth House/White House parking lot, or along Pleasant Plains Drive, which are all across Covenant Lane, we encourage you to do that so that parking spaces will be available to accommodate more guests. We have plenty of seats available and want to remind you that the wings next to the stage are available for seating. You can access these areas from the balcony level. If you notice someone looking for a seat, please look around for space available around you and see if you can move to the middle of your pew to create additional space. We are so glad you are here for worship, and we are looking forward to worshiping our Risen Lord on Easter together. | |
O Nights - Christ Covenant Outreach Nights
Tuesday, April 2
| | |
Everyone is invited to join us on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month for Christ Covenant Outreach Nights, called O Nights. Our next one is Tuesday, April 2, from 7:00 pm - 8:15 pm. One O Night per month will be outreach/evangelism in the community with people going into different sections of the community to share their faith. The other O Night each month will have some time of training to equip our people, but for those that are comfortable with evangelism and don’t need the training, they will still have the option of going out to do surveys/evangelism.
Our desire is to provide different opportunities where we can learn more about our community while at the same time care for people, take steps of faith to engage with others, and to avail ourselves to opportunities to share the gospel. It also gives us the opportunity to serve together, pray for our community, and see God work in another way.
We will meet in the south lobby of the worship center. If you do not feel comfortable walking, we would love for you to participate by praying on our campus. Please bring your small group, family, etc. and join us! If you have any questions, contact Amy Van Dusen at avandusen@christcovenant.org.

Combined Sunday School on Transgenderism
April 7, 14 and 21
| | |
Western culture is currently undergoing deep transformation in how people view sexuality and personal identity. Rather than seeing sexuality as a gift to be received from one’s Creator, it is increasingly understood as determined by the individual—even down to remaking bodies to align with a sense of sexual identity. This cultural change has brought unprecedented challenges to the Church as she seeks to bear witness to God’s Word on what it means to be human, and as she seeks to minister in a deeply confused culture.
This all-church mini-series taught by professors from Reformed Theological Seminary will equip Christians to understand what Scripture teaches on issues related to transgenderism, how we got to this cultural moment, and how Christians might wisely and compassionately minister to others on this issue. Adults and youth are welcome. Pastor Kevin DeYoung will teach the first class on April 7. All classes are in the sanctuary and begin at 9:00 am. We hope to see you there!
