4-H Foods & Nutrition Rule Change Reminder for Kansas State Fair & Miami County Fair

In 2023 they made a new rule in foods:
For food safety purposes, any entries with frostings and fillings must calculate the amount of sugar in the frosting/filling recipe only.

Calculation must be attached to entry, or the placing will be lowered one ribbon when judged. Frosting and fillings need to contain more than 65% sugar for safety.

Examples on how to calculate this percentage are included in Rule Change for Foods
Horse Project 2023-2024 4-H year

You have until June 1 to turn in your Horse Id papers.

Letter with the changes made in 2023.
They have been continued for 2024. Please be sure to read
the letter careful so you will know what needs to be done for you to
participate at your County & State Fairs.

*** Reminder that instead of Horse Level testing you will be required to complete the Horse Safety Webinar and pass the quiz to compete at your county fair. Both Linn & Miami County Horse Project
4-H members need to have this completed by July 1 in order to participate in their county fair.
